About This Role
The Warehouse Manager is responsible for all receiving, warehouse, inventory control, material movement, shipping, and logistics activities supporting manufacturing operations at the Socomec Suwanee facility. This role ensures uninterrupted material flow from supplier receipt through production consumption and shipment while maintaining high standards of safety, accuracy, operational efficiency, and service.
The Manager provides leadership for warehouse personnel and is responsible for establishing scalable processes, warehouse optimization, ERP/WMS utilization, inventory control programs, shipping compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives supporting both current production and future business growth.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Receiving & Inbound Logistics
- Manage all receiving activities, ensuring timely and accurate processing of incoming materials, components, and indirect supplies.
- Coordinate inbound material priorities with Procurement, Planning, and Production to support manufacturing schedules.
- Establish and maintain receiving, inspection, staging, and material flow processes to improve efficiency and inventory visibility.
- Implement and enforce receiving safety best practices, including dock safety, trailer loading/unloading procedures, material handling standards, forklift operations, and PPE compliance.
Warehouse & Inventory Management
- Lead warehouse operations including material storage, inventory control, cycle counting, picking, replenishment, and inventory accuracy programs.
- Maintain organized warehouse layouts, bin locations, visual management systems, and storage strategies that support business growth.
- Develop and implement warehouse processes, KPIs, and continuous improvement initiatives to improve productivity and service levels.
- Implement warehouse safety best practices through standardized work, housekeeping programs, forklift traffic management, ergonomic practices, and routine safety audits.
Production Material Support
- Ensure timely and accurate delivery of materials to manufacturing through effective kitting, picking, staging, and replenishment processes.
- Coordinate material flow between Receiving, Warehouse, and Production to prevent shortages and production interruptions.
- Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities, BOM changes, and engineering transitions to maintain material readiness.
- Implement material handling safety best practices that protect employees, equipment, and product integrity while supporting efficient production operations.
Shipping & Logistics
- Manage all domestic and international shipping operations, including carrier coordination, shipping documentation, and freight scheduling.
- Ensure shipments are packaged, labeled, and documented accurately to meet customer, regulatory, and transportation requirements.
Systems, Continuous Improvement & Compliance
- Serve as the business owner for warehouse, inventory, and shipping-related ERP transactions, processes, and data integrity.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures, work instructions, and performance metrics across warehouse operations.
- Lead warehouse optimization projects including layout improvements, inventory control enhancements, and process automation initiatives.
- Drive a proactive safety culture through training, root-cause investigations, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives focused on eliminating workplace hazards.
Essential Qualifications, Experience, And Skills
Required
- 3+ years of experience in warehouse, materials, inventory, or logistics operations.
- 3+ years of supervisory or management experience.
- Experience with ERP systems and inventory control processes.
- Strong understanding of receiving, warehouse, inventory, and shipping operations.
Preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Logistics, or related field.
- Experience implementing warehouse processes or WMS systems.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Experience supporting NPI and manufacturing growth environments.
Working Conditions
Environment
- Located primarily in a production area within a manufacturing facility.
- Exposure to moderate noise levels, varying temperatures, and industrial equipment.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the warehouse and production areas for extended periods throughout the workday.
- Frequent lifting and carrying of objects up to 50 lbs.
- Forklift certified.
Safety
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required, including safety glasses, safety shoes, and other protective gear.
- Participation in safety training sessions and adherence to safety protocols and company guidelines.

Compensation range: $90,000 – $105,000 USD
