Full Job Description

Paralegal – Business & Corporate Law
(Full-time or part-time available)

Join our AV-rated, preeminent Utah law firm focused exclusively on business and corporate law. We handle sophisticated transactions and litigation in Utah state and federal courts. We are seeking a high-character, capable paralegal who wants real involvement and direct responsibility—not just support tasks. This role offers meaningful ownership, substantive work, and the opportunity to grow alongside experienced attorneys on complex matters.

What You’ll Do

You will play an active, hands-on role in both transactional and litigation matters, taking direct responsibility for key parts of the work. Core responsibilities include:

Independently conducting legal research using LexisNexis and/or WestLaw and preparing clear, usable summaries and analyses
Drafting and revising contracts, pleadings, discovery requests/responses, correspondence, and other legal documents with minimal supervision
Formatting evidence and citations within pleadings
Owning case and transaction management—organizing files, tracking deadlines, coordinating workflows, and ensuring nothing falls through the cracks
Preparing and filing documents in Utah state and federal courts, and managing related procedural requirements
Taking the lead on discovery organization, trial preparation materials, and transaction closing checklists
Serving as a primary point of contact for clients, opposing counsel, and court staff on assigned matters
Identifying issues early, proposing solutions, and driving projects forward as a trusted member of the team

You will be expected to take ownership of your work product, exercise sound judgment, and contribute substantively to the successful resolution of matters.

Who We’re Looking For

Strong attention to detail, organization, and deadline management
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively as part of a team
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), Adobe/PDF tools, and legal research platforms
Willingness to occasionally assist after hours when case or transaction deadlines require it
Prior paralegal or legal assistant experience preferred (especially in business, corporate, or litigation settings); strong candidates without direct experience will be considered

Most important: A work history that shows commitment and stability (ideally 2+ years in prior roles). We invest in people who stay, grow, and take genuine ownership of their work.

Education: Paralegal certificate, associate degree (minimum), or bachelor’s degree preferred.
