ProFlow Pumping Solutions is seeking an Expert Manual Machinist with journeyman-level experience operating large manual machining equipment. This is a senior-level, hands-on position for an accomplished machinist who can independently set up, operate, and troubleshoot large equipment while producing precision work to specification.
This is NOT an entry-level or developing machinist position.
This is an experienced-level machinist position for a career-minded professional with extensive manual machining expertise who takes pride in craftsmanship, precision, and quality. We are looking for someone seeking long-term stability and growth who wants to bring their experience to a shop where their skills and expertise are recognized and valued.
Key Experience
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with large-scale manual machining, including:
- 4-inch and 5-inch boring bars
- 60-inch to 100-inch Vertical Turret Lathes (VTLs)
- Engine lathes up to 20 feet
- Large horizontal and vertical boring operations
- Large-diameter and heavy-component machining
- Precision measuring tools and inspection equipment
- Blueprint, drawing, and specification interpretation
- Independent machine setup, tooling selection, speeds, feeds, and machining sequences
- CNC machining experience is a plus
What You'll Do
- Independently set up and operate large manual lathes, VTLs, boring bars, and related machining equipment.
- Machine, repair, and modify large industrial components to precise specifications and tolerances.
- Determine proper setups, tooling, speeds, feeds, and machining sequences based on the job.
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, job routers, and work instructions.
- Perform in-process and final dimensional inspections using precision measuring instruments.
- Troubleshoot machining challenges and make adjustments to achieve required specifications.
- Work on a variety of custom, repair, and low-volume jobs rather than repetitive production work.
- Maintain a strong focus on safety, quality, equipment care, and housekeeping.

Our facility offers a clean, organized, well-maintained machining environment with a diverse mix of equipment designed to support large and complex industrial work. Our shop includes a combination of:
- Large manual lathes
- Large-capacity VTLs
- 4-inch and 5-inch boring bars
- Manual mills and lathes
- CNC lathes and machining centers
- Large-part machining and repair capabilities
- Precision inspection and measuring equipment

What We're Looking For
- Journeyman-level or equivalent manual machining experience
- Demonstrated expertise operating large manual machining equipment
- Ability to work independently from setup through finished part
- Strong understanding of machining fundamentals, tolerances, tooling, speeds, and feeds
- Experience working with large, heavy, or complex industrial components
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability
- Commitment to quality, safety, and precision
- Long-term, career-minded approach with an interest in becoming a key member of our machining team
- CNC setup and operating experience is highly desirable, but not required
Compensation and Benefits
- $48.00+ per hour based on demonstrated experience and machining capabilities
