Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Bookkeeper to join our dynamic finance team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling bank statements, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards such as GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). Your expertise in various accounting software and systems will support the organization’s financial health and operational efficiency. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a mission-driven organization that values precision, transparency, and continuous improvement.

Duties

Manage full-cycle bookkeeping processes including journal entries, double-entry bookkeeping, and general ledger accounting to ensure accurate financial data.
Reconcile bank statements, accounts receivable, and accounts payable to maintain precise financial records.
Prepare and analyze financial reports, including balance sheets and income statements, in accordance with GAAP standards.
Process payroll accurately using payroll software such as QuickBooks Online or Sage, ensuring timely payments and compliance with tax regulations.
Utilize accounting systems like Xero, QuickBooks, and other financial software to record transactions and generate reports.
Conduct account analysis and account reconciliation to verify the accuracy of financial data across various accounts.
Assist with budgeting processes by providing detailed account analysis and supporting documentation for financial planning.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of accounting standards, technical accounting practices, and industry best practices to ensure compliance and efficiency.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role with strong knowledge of accounting principles such as GAAP.
Proficiency in popular accounting software including QuickBooks (especially QuickBooks Online), Xero, Sage, and other financial systems.
Experience with corporate accounting, non-profit accounting, or public accounting is highly desirable.
Strong skills in spreadsheets (Excel or Google Sheets) for data analysis, report writing, and account reconciliation.
Familiarity with payroll processing, accounts payable/receivable management, bank reconciliation, and general ledger reconciliation.
Ability to perform detailed account analysis using technical accounting concepts like debits & credits, journal entries, and double-entry bookkeeping.
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail; capable of managing multiple tasks efficiently while adhering to deadlines.
Knowledge of financial concepts related to budgeting, account reconciliation, and financial report writing is essential.
