Pay: $32.14 per hour
Hours: Up to 26 hours per week
Schedule: Flexible hours, including evenings and weekends

Position Summary

Seminole State College is seeking a Nursing Open Lab Coordinator to support the daily operations of the Nursing Open Laboratory. This part-time position provides hands-on support to nursing students, faculty, and Clinical Lab Assistants while helping ensure the lab is safe, organized, and ready for learning.

The Nursing Open Lab Coordinator works closely with the Director of the Nursing Simulation Center and nursing faculty to coordinate student training, remediation, and skills validation during Open Lab sessions. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse with nursing skills lab experience who enjoys supporting students and working in an educational environment.

What You'll Do

Coordinate and manage scheduling for nursing students and Clinical Lab Assistants during Open Lab sessions.
Monitor lab activity and adjust operations to ensure an efficient and effective learning environment.
Provide hands-on assistance and support to students, faculty, and Clinical Lab Assistants.
Operate, troubleshoot, and provide technical assistance with nursing equipment and simulation mannequins.
Ensure equipment is used and maintained according to established procedures.
Assist with daily setup, breakdown, storage, and organization of equipment and supplies.
Monitor supplies and ensure appropriate restocking and storage.
Orient new Clinical Lab Assistants to Open Lab procedures and processes.
Assist with training and onboarding new lab users.
Enter and maintain student and faculty information in systems such as ProjectConcert and EHR Tutor.
Support training, remediation, and skills validation activities during Open Lab.
Serve as a liaison between Open Lab staff, the Director of the Nursing Simulation Center, Dean of Nursing, and nursing faculty.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

Associate degree in Nursing (ADN) from a regionally or nationally accredited institution.
Current, active, and unencumbered Florida Registered Nurse (RN) license.
At least two years of clinical nursing experience.

Skills & Abilities

Strong organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to manage multiple activities.
Knowledge of nursing equipment and simulation mannequins, including basic troubleshooting.
Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with students, faculty, and staff.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and data entry.
Professional, courteous, and student-focused approach.
Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds in a multicultural environment.

Work Environment & Schedule

Work is performed primarily in a classroom and nursing laboratory environment.
Must be able to lift, move, carry, and arrange equipment and mannequins weighing up to 30 pounds with assistance.
Flexible scheduling is required, including evenings and weekends.

Compensation

$32.14 per hour, up to 26 hours per week.

This position is not eligible for Veterans' Preference.
