Vascular Ultrasound Technologist

About Us

We are a growing vascular surgery practice dedicated to providing high-quality, compassionate care to patients with vascular conditions. We are seeking an experienced and dependable Vascular Ultrasound Technologist to join our clinical team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a vascular technologist who enjoys working closely with vascular surgeons and being an integral part of a patient-focused clinical environment.

Position Summary

The Vascular Ultrasound Technologist will perform diagnostic vascular ultrasound examinations and physiologic testing to assist our vascular surgeons with the diagnosis and management of vascular disease.

The ideal candidate is technically proficient, detail-oriented, dependable, compassionate, and comfortable working independently in a busy vascular practice.

Responsibilities

Perform vascular duplex ultrasound examinations according to established protocols.
Perform venous and arterial duplex studies of the upper and lower extremities.
Perform carotid duplex examinations.
Perform AV fistula and AV graft evaluations for dialysis access.
Perform ABI, PVR, and segmental pressure testing, as applicable.
Perform abdominal vascular studies, including aortic and iliac evaluations.
Perform renal and mesenteric vascular studies when indicated.
Obtain accurate Doppler waveforms, velocities, measurements, and diagnostic images.
Ensure all studies are complete, technically accurate, and properly documented.
Identify and promptly communicate significant or urgent findings to the physician.
Assist the vascular surgeon with pre-operative and post-operative vascular evaluations.
Review patient history and physician orders prior to examinations.
Explain procedures to patients and ensure their comfort and privacy.
Maintain accurate patient records and comply with HIPAA requirements.
Maintain and clean ultrasound equipment according to infection-control protocols.
Assist with maintaining an organized ultrasound room and adequate supplies.
Follow all practice policies, safety procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

Required:

Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography or Vascular Technology program.
Current RVT, RDMS, or equivalent vascular credential.
Strong knowledge of vascular anatomy, physiology, and Doppler principles.
Excellent technical and documentation skills.
Strong communication and patient-care skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a clinical team.
Reliable attendance and professional work ethic.
Current BLS/CPR certification or ability to obtain it.

Preferred:

Previous experience in a vascular surgery practice or vascular laboratory.
Experience with dialysis access studies.
Experience with arterial and venous insufficiency studies.
Experience performing carotid duplex studies.
Experience with ABI/PVR and physiologic testing.
Experience working directly with vascular surgeons.
