Job Summary
Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Medical Assistant/Receptionist, where you'll be the friendly face and efficient coordinator that keeps our outpatient clinic running smoothly. In this vital role, you will provide exceptional patient service, support clinical staff with medical procedures, and manage administrative tasks with precision. Your energetic approach will help create a welcoming environment for patients and ensure seamless clinic operations. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills across various medical services.

Duties

Greet patients warmly, verify their information, and assist with check-in and check-out processes using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
Obtain and record vital signs, patient histories, and current medications to support accurate diagnosis and treatment plans.
Assist healthcare providers with clinical procedures such as specimen collection, medication administration, and basic life support when needed.
Manage patient intake by reviewing medical histories, updating records, and ensuring all necessary documentation is complete.
Schedule appointments efficiently.
Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment while adhering to safety protocols.
Support administrative functions including ICD coding for diagnoses, insurance verification, answering phone calls, and managing correspondence.

Requirements

Proven experience in medical assisting or administrative support within healthcare settings such as hospitals or clinics.
Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and ICD coding to accurately document patient encounters.
Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or equivalent is required; additional certifications are a plus.
Familiarity with EHR systems and proficiency in managing patient data securely and efficiently. ECW experience preferred.
Ability to handle fast-paced situations involving patient care.
Strong communication skills with a focus on patient service excellence; compassionate approach to patient care is essential.
