Full Job Description

Altoona Beauty School is seeking a highly organized, dependable, and proactive Director's Assistant to support the School Director in the day-to-day operations of our growing cosmetology school.

This is more than an administrative position—we're looking for someone who enjoys solving problems, keeping projects organized, and helping students, staff, and visitors have a great experience every day.

Responsibilities

Assist the School Director with daily administrative and operational tasks
Answer phones, emails, and greet prospective students and visitors
Schedule appointments, meetings, and school tours
Maintain student records and ensure documentation is accurate
Assist with enrollment paperwork and student onboarding
Coordinate communication with instructors, students, and vendors
Order office and school supplies
Prepare reports, spreadsheets, and correspondence
Help organize school events, graduations, and workshops
Assist with social media updates and marketing projects (a plus)
Help keep the office running smoothly and efficiently
Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Excellent organizational and time management skills
Strong written and verbal communication
Professional appearance and positive attitude
Friendly, patient, and customer-service oriented
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, email)
Quick learner with attention to detail
Ability to handle confidential information professionally

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in education, beauty industry, healthcare, or office administration
Experience with CRM or student management software
