Full Job Description

The Role

This is not an entry-level CAD position. We need an experienced drafter who can

independently take a home from concept to a complete, permit-ready set of plans and

then carry it through the city’s review and permitting process with minimal hand-holding.

You’ll be a key part of keeping our pipeline moving.

What You’ll Do

Produce complete construction document sets: foundation plans, floor plans, framing, elevations, sections, and details
Ensure plans meet local building and energy codes (IRC, IECC)
Submit plans to the city and manage the permitting process start to finish
Coordinate directly with the city on plan review, respond to redlines, and turn around revisions quickly
Work with our team on plan modifications, custom changes, and lot-specific adjustments
Maintain organized, version-controlled plan libraries across multiple active projects

What We’re Looking For

Proven experience drafting complete residential construction sets independently
Strong command of AutoCAD, Revit, or comparable software
Working knowledge of residential building codes and the permitting/plan-review process
Ability to coordinate with municipal building departments and manage revisions under deadline
Self-directed, organized, and reliable — especially important for a remote candidate
High-volume production homebuilding experience is a strong plus

Location

Based in Amarillo, Texas. We’ll also consider a fully remote candidate anywhere in the
