Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented Operations & Data Specialist to help improve the accuracy, consistency, and performance of our store operations.

This role is a combination of data analysis, operational support, and field execution. You will work directly with leadership, stores, vendors, and internal teams to identify issues, improve processes, and ensure our systems and data are accurate and reliable.

This is not a task-based role. You will be expected to take ownership, identify problems, and develop solutions—not wait to be told what to do.

No prior retail experience is required—we will train you on the business. What matters most is your ability to think critically, work independently, and solve problems using data.

Core Responsibilities Data Analysis & Reporting

Work extensively in Excel and internal systems to analyze data and identify trends
Build and maintain reports on:
Cost vs. list pricing
Margins
Sales by category
Operational performance metrics
Provide clear, actionable insights to management
Reduce repeated data requests by building reliable, repeatable reporting systems

Operational Support & Execution

Assist stores with:
Inventory counts and accuracy
Inventory ordering and product mix
Ensure consistency across stores in:
Pricing
Inventory levels
Product naming conventions
Use systems (not people) to locate information whenever possible

Back Office & System Ownership

Become proficient in back-office software and price book
Maintain accuracy of:
Pricing
Inventory data
Item setup and naming conventions
Identify system issues and take initiative to troubleshoot and resolve them

Business & Strategy Support

Assist management in analyzing and improving:
Pricing strategies
Staffing levels
Store hours of operation
Product mix
Support marketing by:
Helping set promotions
Reporting on performance and results
Work with accounting to ensure accurate and reliable data

Communication & Coordination

Serve as a liaison between leadership and store teams
Work directly with vendors and contractors when needed
Communicate clearly and professionally both in writing and verbally

Compliance & Field Work

Help ensure store-level compliance with:
Company standards
Local, state, and federal requirements
Travel to store locations regularly
Learn store operations firsthand and apply that knowledge to improve systems

What Success Looks LikeFirst 30–60 Days

Learn our systems, business practices, and store operations
Build familiarity with stores and staff
Understand how data flows through the business

6 Months

Proficient in back-office software and price book
Assisting stores with inventory and ordering
Working independently and identifying operational issues
Beginning to improve processes and data accuracy

12 Months

Producing consistent, reliable reports for management
Independently scheduling and managing store visits (including New Mexico)
Supporting marketing with data and performance insights
Identifying system issues and troubleshooting them without direction
Acting as a trusted resource for operations and data across the company

Required Skills & QualificationsCore Requirements

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Must be comfortable with pivot tables, lookups, and analyzing data
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving ability
High attention to detail and accuracy
Self-starter who works independently without constant direction
Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
Willingness to travel regularly

Preferred (Not Required)

Degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain, Analytics, or similar
Experience with data, reporting, or operational systems
Familiarity with Microsoft 365 tools (SharePoint, Teams, etc.)
