Your Day-to-Day Impact
As the heartbeat of our center, you will oversee all daily operations with a focus on:
- Talent & Mentorship: Recruiting, hiring, and onboarding exceptional educators. You will coach and mentor your staff to help them reach their full professional potential.
- Operational Excellence: Managing staffing schedules, maintaining strict classroom safety, and ensuring total compliance with Utah Child Care Licensing (R381-100) regulations.
- Community & Culture: Building authentic, trust-filled relationships with families and the local community while cultivating a joyful, collaborative team environment.
- Business Growth: Driving center success through strategic enrollment, local marketing, and sound budget management.
What You Bring to the Table
State Licensing & General Eligibility (Utah R381-100)
- Age: Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Background Check: Must be determined eligible through an Office of Background Processing (OBP) background check prior to working with children.
- Preservice Training: Must complete the 2.5-hour preservice training offered by the Office of Licensing (OL).
- Director Training: Must complete the official New Director Training offered by OL within 60 working days of assuming director duties.
- Ongoing Training: Commitment to completing at least 20 hours of approved child care training annually (or 45 minutes per month worked if hired partway through the licensing year).
- Compliance Knowledge: Ability to learn, know, and strictly adhere to all applicable state laws and licensing rules.
Educational & Professional Credentials (Must meet at least ONE)
- Bachelor’s Degree or Higher: Any bachelor's or higher degree with at least 60 clock hours of coursework in child development, social-emotional development, and the child care environment (or 60 hours of equivalent training approved by OL).
- Associate Degree: At least an Associate Degree in early childhood development or a closely related field.
- College Credit: At least 12 college credit hours in child development courses.
- National Early Childhood Certification: A currently valid national credential such as a Child Development Associate (CDA) issued by the Council for Early Childhood Professional Recognition, a Certified Childcare Professional (CCP) issued by the National Child Care Association, or an equivalent OL-approved credential.
- National Administrator Credential (NAC): A valid NAC with at least 60 hours of equivalent training as approved by OL.
