Job Overview
As an Irrigation & Miscellaneous Services Technician, you will be a crucial part of ensuring the professional upkeep and improvement of our clients' properties. Your primary responsibility will be irrigation services, including spring startups, system inspections, repairs, backflow testing, and fall winterizations. As seasonal irrigation demands change, you will also perform landscape lighting installations and service, warranty work, miscellaneous service requests, and assist with mowing and other field operations as needed.

IRRIGATION TECHNICIAN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain an Iowa Backflow Prevention Assembly Tester (BPAT) certification. Continuing education will be provided by the company.
- Willingness to obtain an Iowa 30T Pesticide Applicator License is strongly preferred. ETCH will assist qualified employees in obtaining this certification.
- Keep management informed of concerns, repairs, and jobsite issues with photo documentation.
- Complete irrigation repairs above and below ground.
- Perform irrigation startups, inspections, repairs, adjustments, backflow testing, and winterizations.
- Install, repair, and maintain low-voltage landscape lighting systems.
- Complete landscape warranty work and miscellaneous service requests.
- Assist with mowing, property maintenance, and other field operations as seasonal workloads require.
- Provide exceptional customer service while documenting completed work with photos and detailed notes.
- Manage department inventory, equipment, and tools to ensure they remain organized, stocked, and in working order.
- Submit vacation requests at least two weeks in advance.
- Build relationships with clients by identifying their goals while recognizing opportunities for additional services.
- Communicate directly with clients regarding scheduling changes or service concerns.
- Work outdoors in varying weather conditions and temperatures.
Production Rates and Expectations Per Technician
This department is responsible for irrigation services, water management, landscape lighting, warranty work, and miscellaneous service requests for both current and future clients. Production expectations are based on quality workmanship, customer satisfaction, revenue generation, and meeting promised deadlines.
- Irrigation Startups & Winterizations: 7-10 systems per day
- Be flexible with scheduling, including occasional late starts or extended hours during peak irrigation seasons.
- Weather may impact production. Team members are expected to work overtime as needed to meet seasonal demand while maintaining the highest level of customer service.

Your role at ETCH Outdoor Living is more than just your core title. We always strive to keep our teams busy with a consistent paycheck. Therefore: when not performing your core responsibilities it will be expected that you participate in all other departments or any work directed by management. This may include but is not limited to Mowing, Mulch Installation, Property Maintenance, Landscape and Holiday Lighting. Most importantly all team members are required to work Snow Removal. Employment and Unemployment Benefits are contingent upon participation.
Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
