Full Job Description

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Employee Relations Specialist to support our growing network of Dunkin' franchise locations throughout Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, and Vermont. This role is responsible for fostering a positive workplace culture, addressing employee concerns, conducting workplace investigations, and ensuring compliance with federal and state employment laws. The ideal candidate is a trusted HR partner with strong interpersonal skills, sound judgment, and the ability to navigate complex employee relations matters across multiple locations.

Key Responsibilities

Serve as the primary point of contact for employee relations matters across all franchise locations.
Investigate employee complaints, workplace conflicts, policy violations, and other employee relations concerns, ensuring fair and timely resolution.
Partner with managers to provide guidance on performance management, corrective action, employee coaching, and workplace behavior.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, including wage and hour regulations, leave laws, anti-discrimination requirements, and workplace safety standards.
Coach and develop managers on effective leadership practices, communication techniques, conflict resolution, and employee engagement strategies.
Develop, maintain, and update employee relations policies, procedures, documentation, and reporting systems.
Conduct regular site visits and employee check-ins to proactively identify concerns and support a positive work environment.
Collaborate with Human Resources and Operations leadership to implement employee engagement and retention initiatives.
Analyze employee relations trends and recommend proactive solutions to improve workplace culture and reduce risk.
Develop and facilitate training programs on HR policies, labor law compliance, workplace conduct, and leadership development.
Travel regularly to franchise locations throughout Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, and Vermont to conduct investigations, provide training, and support operational needs.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum of 5 years of employee relations experience, HR generalist experience, or a combination of both.
Experience supporting multi-site operations in retail, hospitality, restaurant, or food service environments preferred.
Strong working knowledge of employment laws and regulations in Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, and Vermont.
Excellent investigation, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills.
Demonstrated ability to build relationships and influence leaders at all levels of the organization.
Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
High level of emotional intelligence, professionalism, and discretion when handling sensitive matters.
Ability and willingness to travel frequently throughout the four-state territory.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HRIS systems.

Preferred Qualifications

SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification preferred.
Experience conducting workplace investigations and facilitating management training programs.
