Full Job Description

Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accounting / HR Manager to lead our financial and human resources functions. This pivotal role combines overseeing accounting operations, managing HR processes, and ensuring smooth office management. The ideal candidate will be energetic, organized, and proactive, ready to drive efficiency across multiple departments. You will play a vital role in maintaining accurate financial records, supervising administrative staff and supporting team development initiatives. Your expertise will help foster a positive workplace environment while ensuring compliance with all relevant policies and regulations.

Duties

Manage the full accounting cycle, including month-end and year-end close processes.
Prepare accurate financial statements, reports, and analysis for management.
Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
Oversee payroll processing, benefits administration, and employee records.
Manage employee relations, performance reviews, and disciplinary processes.
Handle recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding of employees.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws (FLSA, FMLA, EEOC, etc.).
Administer employee benefits programs and open enrollment.
Serve as a key member of the leadership team, providing guidance on financial and people-related matters.
Develop and implement process improvements across accounting and HR functions. Manage and mentor accounting/HR staff.
Support strategic initiatives related to compensation, cost control, and organizational development.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of payroll tax laws, labor regulations, and financial reporting standards.
Ensure timely and accurate filing of all tax returns and regulatory reports.
Handle confidential information with discretion and integrity.

Qualifications

Proven supervising experience in office management or administrative roles with strong leadership skills
Proficiency in bookkeeping/accounting software
Excellent communication skills with the ability to handle phone etiquette professionally and foster team collaboration
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple schedules efficiently
Experience in event planning, vendor negotiations, and vendor management
Knowledge of human resources practices including payroll processing and employee relations
Demonstrated ability to train staff effectively and support professional development initiatives
