If sitting behind a desk all day sounds miserable and spending your workday walking dogs sounds considerably better, you may have found your job.
Buffalo Dog Walkers is hiring a Professional Dog Walker for our weekday daytime team.
This is a consistent part-time W-2 position where you’ll spend your days moving, working independently, getting outside, and building relationships with some very enthusiastic four-legged regulars.
Why Our Team Loves This Job
- Get paid to work with dogs every day
- Consistent weekday daytime schedule
- Work independently without a manager looking over your shoulder
- Stay active instead of sitting at a desk
- Paid drive time between visits
- Client tips
- Reliability and attendance bonuses
- W-2 employee position — not gig work
- Paid Pet First Aid & CPR certification
- Support from a real local team when you need it
- Opportunities to take on more responsibility and grow with us
Many of the pets you care for will become regulars, which means you'll get to know their personalities, routines, favorite walking routes, and exactly which treat will convince them to come back inside.
The Schedule
We are currently looking for someone who can consistently work Monday through Friday during the daytime.
You should be available for one of these windows:
9:00 AM–2:00 PM
or
10:00 AM–3:00 PM
Most team members work approximately 10–20 hours per week, depending on client demand and availability.
We also ask team members to be available for approximately one weekend per month.
Our clients are located throughout Buffalo and nearby suburbs, so you'll travel between client homes during your shift.
What Your Day Looks Like
You'll receive your schedule and route through our pet care app and travel between client homes providing things like:
- Daily dog walks
- Puppy potty breaks and playtime
- Cat care
- Feeding and fresh water
- Medication when needed
- Lots of attention, enrichment, and companionship
- Occasional vacation pet care visits
After each visit, you'll send the client a quick update and photos so they know their pet is happy and cared for.
For most of the day, it's you, your route, and the animals you're caring for.
You'll Probably Love This Job If You Are...
Dependable. If you're scheduled to care for someone's dog at noon, they need to know you'll be there.
Independent. You enjoy having responsibility for your own workday.

An animal person. You genuinely enjoy getting to know different dogs and cats — including their quirks.
Organized. You can follow schedules, instructions, and client care notes carefully.
A good communicator. You're friendly, responsive, and comfortable sending professional updates to clients and your team.
We can teach our systems and procedures.
Reliability, judgment, kindness toward animals, and a strong work ethic are the things we care about most.
