Full Job Description

Employment Type: Per Diem

Shift: Days

Hours Per Week: As scheduled

Hiring range: Starting at $32.96/ hourly

Below are the shift differentials based on eligible shifts worked:

Weekday evening shift - additional 10% plus $2.00 per hour
Weekday night shift - additional 15% plus $3.00 per hour
Weekend day shift - additional 10%
Weekend evening & night shifts - additional 21%

The actual compensation for this position will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.

Responsibilities:

Operates equipment and performs various mammography related procedures. Prepares and positions patients and selects anatomic and technical parameters accurately.
Educates patients and provides explanation of imaging procedures to gain patient cooperation while reducing anxieties.
Evaluates the quality of images and adjusts factors if an image needs to be repeated.
Minimizes radiation to patients and staff by following radiation safety procedures and guidelines.
Ensures all required documentation, requisitions, forms, charges, and patient’s medical record are completed.
Assists in maintaining a clean, and orderly department to include procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, and any other areas in department.
Ensures equipment is properly functioning. Reports potential problems or equipment malfunction to appropriate personnel.
Works with mammogram letters (results/reminders).

Education, Training & Experience:

Completion of AMA approved school of radiological technology. Minimum of two years experience as a mammography technologist preferred.
BLS Provider obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
Radiologic Technologist credentialed from the New York Department of Health obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
Radiologic Technologist specializing in Mammography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date.
Radiologic Technologist credentialed from the New York Department of Health obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date
