About the Role

The Program Coordinator is responsible for the overall administration, implementation, coordination, and evaluation of the Nurse Aide Training Program (NATP). The Program Coordinator ensures that the program is delivered in full compliance with Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) requirements, applicable federal regulations, and the approved curriculum. The Program Coordinator provides leadership for instructional staff, oversees program quality, ensures regulatory compliance, and promotes student success through effective educational planning, instructional oversight, and continuous program improvement.

Qualifications

Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license without restrictions.
Minimum two (2) years of nursing experience.
At least one (1) year of experience in the provision of long-term care services.
Demonstrated experience in teaching adults, supervising nurse aides, or successful completion of a course in teaching adults.
Comprehensive knowledge of Montana Nurse Aide Training Program requirements and applicable federal OBRA regulations.
Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and instructional skills.
Ability to supervise instructional personnel, coordinate educational activities, and evaluate student performance.

Primary Functions

Provide overall leadership, administration, and oversight of the Nurse Aide Training Program.
Ensure the program maintains full compliance with all applicable state and federal regulatory requirements while promoting high-quality instruction and successful student outcomes.

Responsibilities

Administer and oversee all aspects of the approved Nurse Aide Training Program.
Ensure the curriculum is delivered in accordance with the approved training plan, lesson plans, and required instructional hours.
Coordinate classroom, skills laboratory, and clinical training schedules.
Supervise and provide guidance to clinical instructors and supplemental instructors to ensure consistent instructional quality and regulatory compliance.
Verify that all instructors meet applicable qualification requirements before participating in program instruction.
Monitor student progress and ensure successful completion of required knowledge, skills, and competency evaluations.
Review and maintain accurate records of student attendance, instructional hours, competency evaluations, clinical performance, and program documentation.
Ensure competency evaluations are conducted in accordance with approved program policies and applicable regulations.
Promote instruction that emphasizes resident rights, infection prevention and control, safety, ethical practice, communication, and person-centered care.
Ensure instructional activities are conducted in accordance with applicable federal OBRA requirements and Montana Nurse Aide Training Program standards.
Coordinate clinical learning experiences and maintain communication with affiliated clinical training sites.
Evaluate program effectiveness through student performance, instructor feedback, competency outcomes, and quality improvement activities.
Prepare and maintain documentation required for state approval, program monitoring, and regulatory review.
Maintain current knowledge of nursing practice, long-term care standards, adult education principles, and regulatory requirements.
Serve as the primary program liaison with regulatory agencies, administrators, instructors, and clinical partners.
Perform additional duties as assigned in support of program operations.

Supervision

The Program Coordinator provides direct supervision and oversight of all Nurse Aide Training Program instructors, supplemental instructors, and educational activities.
The Program Coordinator is responsible for overall program administration, regulatory compliance, curriculum implementation, instructor oversight, student competency validation, and continuous quality improvement.
In accordance with Montana Nurse Aide Training Program requirements, the Director of Nursing may serve as the Program Coordinator but may not serve simultaneously as a program instructor.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $40.00 - $42.00 per hour
