Full Job Description

Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Controller to oversee our accounting operations and ensure the integrity of financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in various accounting practices, including automotive dealership accounting, as well as a strong understanding of financial management principles. This role requires a proactive leader who can manage cash flow, prepare financial reports, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

Oversee all aspects of accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger accounting.
Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including AR/AP, GL, bank reconciliations, and monthly closings.
Supervise and mentor a team of accounting staff
Produce timely and accurate financial statements in accordance with GAAP and dealership best practices.
Monitor and enforce internal controls, compliance, and DMS procedures.
Work closely with department managers and ownership to provide financial insights and recommendations.
Coordinate annual budgeting and forecasting processes.
Liaise with external auditors, tax professionals, and lenders as needed.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and dealership policies.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA designation preferred.
Proven experience in public accounting or corporate accounting roles.
Strong knowledge of technical accounting concepts and financial reporting standards.
5+ years of experience as a Controller or Senior Accountant in an automotive dealership environment.
Strong knowledge of dealership operations, including sales, F&I, service, and parts.
Experience with dealership management systems (Tekion, CDK)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $100,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year
