Alaska Task Force General Manager

We are seeking an experienced and highly adaptable Task Force General Manager to support operations across our Alaska portfolio, including the Aspen hotel collection.

This role is designed for a strong operator who can step into leadership seamlessly, stabilize performance, and drive results across select service and extended stay properties. The ideal candidate brings a disciplined, hands-on leadership style and the ability to quickly assess, align, and elevate hotel operations in dynamic environments.

Position Overview

The Task Force General Manager serves as the acting General Manager during leadership transitions, vacancies, or critical business needs. When not assigned to a property, this individual partners closely with senior leadership on strategic initiatives, operational improvements, and cross-functional projects.

Key Responsibilities

Provide full operational leadership across assigned hotels, ensuring consistency in execution and performance
Lead and develop department heads and teams, reinforcing accountability and service excellence
Drive financial performance through active participation in budgeting, forecasting, and revenue optimization
Ensure adherence to company standards, SOPs, and overall brand expectations
Conduct routine property inspections to maintain quality, safety, and guest satisfaction
Collaborate with leadership to implement process improvements and operational efficiencies

Qualifications

Proven leadership experience within select service or extended stay hotel environments
Prior General Manager or Assistant General Manager experience required
Strong financial acumen with the ability to impact profitability and overall performance
Demonstrated ability to lead through change, solve complex problems, and deliver results under pressure
Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills
Highly self-motivated with a strong sense of urgency and accountability

The hospitality business functions seven (7) days a week, twenty-four hours a day. In addition, this is a hospitality business, and a hospitable service atmosphere must be always projected. Duties

Lead and supervise hotel operations across multiple properties, ensuring adherence to company standards and policies.
Develop and execute strategic plans to maximize revenue, occupancy rates, and profitability through effective revenue management techniques.
Oversee guest services to guarantee a memorable experience, addressing guest concerns promptly and professionally.
Manage human resources functions including hiring, training, performance evaluations, and staff development to build a motivated and skilled team.
Coordinate front desk activities, including multi-line phone systems, phone etiquette, and guest check-in/check-out procedures.
Oversee budgeting processes, financial reporting, and cost control measures to maintain fiscal health of all properties.
Implement hospitality best practices related to resort operations, night audits, and guest relations initiatives.
Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, leadership growth, and high employee morale.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and uphold the highest standards of hotel management and guest services.

Qualifications

Proven supervising experience in hospitality or hotel management roles with demonstrated leadership capabilities.
Extensive hotel experience with a strong understanding of front desk operations, night audit procedures, and guest services.
Knowledge of revenue management strategies to optimize occupancy and profitability.
Exceptional customer service skills coupled with excellent phone etiquette and multi-line phone system proficiency.
Bilingual or multilingual abilities are highly desirable to enhance guest interactions in diverse communities.
Strong background in human resources practices including hiring, training, performance management, and team development.
Experience managing budgets, financial reports, and resource allocation within a hospitality setting.
Leadership qualities that inspire teams to deliver outstanding service while maintaining operational efficiency.
