Full Job Description

We are seeking an experienced, dependable, and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team. We are looking for someone who can independently manage the organization's day to day bookkeeping and become a long-term member of our team.

Position Details

Pay: $26–$29 per hour, depending on experience
Schedule: Part-time or Full-time
Experience: 2–3 years of bookkeeping experience required
Software: QuickBooks Desktop experience required
Position: Long-term

Responsibilities

The Full-Charge Bookkeeper will be responsible for managing the organization's complete bookkeeping cycle, including:

Managing day-to-day bookkeeping and maintaining the general ledger
Accounts payable and accounts receivable
Recording invoices, bills, payments, deposits, and financial transactions
Preparing and issuing checks and payroll
Managing and reconciling bank and credit card accounts
Performing monthly reconciliations and researching discrepancies
Recording and reconciling payroll transactions
Maintaining accurate vendor, customer, and financial records
Managing petty cash and supporting documentation
Preparing monthly financial reports, including Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet
Assisting with budgeting, forecasting, and expense tracking
Preparing documentation for year-end close, CPA, audits, and tax preparation
Assisting with 1099s and other year-end reporting
Maintaining organized financial files and confidential records
Identifying and correcting bookkeeping errors
Providing financial information and reports to management
Working with leadership and outside accounting professionals as needed
Developing and maintaining organized bookkeeping procedures
Other bookkeeping and accounting duties as needed

Qualifications

2–3 years of professional bookkeeping experience
QuickBooks Desktop experience required
Strong understanding of basic accounting principles
Experience with the full bookkeeping cycle
Strong reconciliation and financial reporting skills
Attention to detail and accuracy
Organized and dependable
Able to work independently and meet deadlines
Strong computer and Microsoft Office skills
Comfortable handling confidential financial information
Professional communication and problem-solving skills

Preferred:

Nonprofit bookkeeping, grant accounting, payroll, budgeting, 1099s, or experience working with a CPA or accounting firm.

This is a full-charge bookkeeping position, not simply a data-entry or accounts-payable role.
