Procurement and Inventory Control Specialist
We are seeking an organized and dependable Procurement and Inventory Control Specialist to manage purchasing activities and maintain accurate inventory for our service and shop operations. This position helps ensure technicians have the correct parts, materials, and supplies when needed while controlling costs and preventing unnecessary downtime.
Key Responsibilities
- Purchase parts, materials, tools, and supplies needed for service and shop work.
- Obtain pricing and availability from vendors and issue purchase orders.
- Monitor open orders and follow up on late or backordered items.
- Receive incoming materials and verify quantities, condition, and pricing.
- Maintain accurate inventory counts and system records.
- Organize, label, and store inventory in designated locations.
- Establish and monitor minimum and maximum stock levels.
- Perform regular cycle counts and assist with physical inventory.
- Research and resolve inventory shortages and discrepancies.
- Issue parts and materials to the correct work orders.
- Maintain accurate records for purchased and returned items.
- Process warranty claims, returns, and credits with vendors.
- Coordinate with service managers, technicians, and office staff to determine purchasing needs.
- Evaluate vendors based on price, quality, availability, and service.
- Identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve inventory control.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized parts and inventory area.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in purchasing, inventory control, parts, warehousing, or a related position preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Comfortable working with inventory, purchasing, and work-order software.
- Basic understanding of purchase orders, invoices, shipping documents, and vendor quotes.
- Ability to research parts and verify part numbers and equipment compatibility.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced service environment.
- Basic computer skills, including email and Microsoft Office.
- Valid driver’s license and dependable attendance.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and move parts and materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach throughout the workday.
- Ability to safely operate material-handling equipment after training.
Preferred Experience
Experience with industrial equipment, compressors, mechanical parts, electrical components, or field-service operations is beneficial but not required.

Schedule
Full-time, Monday through Friday. Occasional overtime may be required depending on operational needs.
