Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and organized Dental Front Desk Receptionist to join our vibrant dental team. In this pivotal role, you will be the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing a variety of administrative and clinical support tasks. Your energetic approach will help ensure smooth clinic operations, accurate patient records, and efficient appointment scheduling. Responsibilities

Greet patients warmly and professionally, creating a welcoming environment for all visitors.
Schedule appointments efficiently using dental practice management software such as Open Dental, Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring optimal patient flow.
Verify insurance coverage and benefits by utilizing systems like Athenahealth, Meditech, or EMR platforms; perform insurance eligibility checks and authorizations.
Collect and process payments, perform billing task, and manage collections with attention to accuracy and HIPAA compliance.
Maintain accurate patient records in electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or eClinicalWorks; review documentation for completeness and correctness.
Answer multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette; handle patient inquiries, appointment rescheduling, and follow-up calls with enthusiasm.
Manage administrative duties such as filing, data entry, document review, and maintaining clinical confidentiality policies in accordance with HIPAA standards.
Assist with insurance verification, claims submission, and follow-up to ensure timely reimbursements.
Support clinical staff by coordinating care plans documentation and ensuring all medical records are up-to-date and compliant with health information management standards.
Perform general office management tasks including inventory control of office supplies and maintaining a clean, organized reception area.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a medical receptionist or front desk administrative support in a dental or healthcare setting; clinic experience preferred.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, health insurance procedures, and clinical confidentiality policies.
Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, Dentrix or Eaglesoft; proficiency in EMR systems is highly desirable.
Skilled in medical coding including CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding for billing purposes; experience with Medicare and Medicaid is advantageous.
Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), typing (10 key typing), and familiarity with office management software like eClinicalWorks or Dentrix.
Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively in bilingual environments; fluency in additional languages is a plus.
Ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in documentation review and data entry tasks.
Knowledge of health information management practices related to medical records and electronic health record management systems.
