Position Overview
Position: Cultivation Technician I
Reports to: Cultivation Manager
Location: Mid-town Anchorage
Shift hours: We are looking for a full-time position Monday-Friday 8 hours a day, with the possibility of overtime when needed per production schedules and potential weekend shift.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a Cultivation Technician I that is ambitious about tackling challenging jobs when the opportunity presents itself. An ideal candidate understands the meaning of hard work and grit. Indoor horticulture can be labor intensive at times, getting your hands dirty and sweating is a daily occurrence. This position involves several janitorial tasks throughout the facility. Understanding the work doesn’t end after the task is complete but when your work area is cleaned and organized.
Agriculture experience is not required for this position. Trade experience from another industry is preferred. Someone comfortable around machinery and has handy-man experience is preferred. More importantly the willingness to work hard and learn every day is preferred. One should expect when applying for this role to be involved with every aspect of the production cycle. From propagation to harvest and potential post processing tasks.
Position Description
The Cultivation Technician I is responsible for assisting with all aspects of the company's cultivation operation from seedling to harvest. Various tasks will include transplanting, trimming, watering, pruning plants. Detailed recordkeeping and strict adherence to the company’s operating procedures and compliance with the state regulations is essential for this position.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties
- Daily care of plants, including - watering, pruning, trimming, and inspecting the plants.
- Fertilizing and providing nutrients to the plants according to cultivation protocols set forth by the Cultivation Manager.
- Assist with de-leafing and harvesting plants, including hanging, curing and drying the plants.
- Careful monitoring of the plants for any signs of growing issues or problems; treatment for disease or infestation.
- Continuous systematic cleaning and sanitizing of grow facility and machinery; dispose of waste according to strict compliance guidelines and regulations.
- Ensure the appropriate information is accurate and listed clearly in accordance with the state regulations and company standard operating procedures.
- Carefully follow directions as provided by the Cultivation Management.
Minimum Qualification Requirements
- Strong interpersonal skills; team player.
- Must be 21 or older, with an Alaska state issued marijuana handler card.
- Ability to work daytime or evening hours.
- High School Diploma
- Work Experience: 2 to 3 years working in a team environment
Physical Requirements
The Cultivation Technician I position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching all day. The physical requirements described below are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential responsibilities and duties of this job.
- Extensive walking throughout large facility areas
- Standing for long periods to work through tasks
- Ability to lift 30 to 40 pounds and carry two hundred feet
- Maintain balance while walking, standing, or crouching
- Twist upper torso
- Reach up and out with hands and arms
Working Conditions:
· Work is primarily performed in indoor cultivation facilities under artificial lighting.
· Exposure to high humidity, soil, water, and strong odors is common.
· May require working evenings, weekends, or holidays depending on cultivation cycles.

Schedule: Full-Time | Sat–Wed | 8-hour shifts
Pay Range: $20–$23/hr
Position Summary
The Cultivation Technician I II supports all phases of cannabis plant growth from seedling to harvest, and plays a key role in special projects like pheno hunting, autoflower R&D, and breeding. This hands-on role requires grit, passion for cannabis, and agricultural experience — especially within Enlighten's unique facility environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Daily plant care: watering, pruning, transplanting, trimming
- Harvest & post-harvest: de-leafing, cutting, curing, drying
- IPM applications and sanitation duties
- Data tracking for internal R&D projects
- Equipment operation and light repairs
- Compliance documentation (METRC & SOP adherence)
- Support and mentoring of Technician I staff
Required Qualifications
- Age: 21+ with valid Alaska Marijuana Handler Permit
- Experience: 1+ year in commercial cultivation/agriculture
- Teamwork: 2–3 years working in collaborative environments
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent
- Tech skills: Comfortable with web-based tracking tools (e.g., Typeform)
Physical & Work Requirements
- Lift 30–40 lbs, walk/stand for long durations
- Work in humid, high-light environments
- May include evenings, weekends, and OT
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour
