Full Job Description

The Financial Secretary position at Babbie Baptist Church must be filled by a baptized born-again believer in our Lord Jesus Christ. They must be a Member of Babbie Baptist Church (or will become a Member). They will be required to undergo a thorough background check. This position is part-time at 20-35 hours per week and pays $15.00 per hour.

The Financial Secretary position encompasses several aspects of bookkeeping, technical expertise, and customer service needed to help Church finances run as smoothly as possible. This job requires great attention to detail, accounting abilities, desire to learn and grow, and immense integrity. A successful candidate will be able to juggle multiple responsibilities and be an effective problem-solver, both as part of a team and while working independently. Time management and task prioritization are of utmost importance to this position.

Financial Duties:

· Prepare bank deposits from the Sunday offering and other funds received by the Church

· Enter bank deposit records into CDM+ church management software

· Process and print online giving deposits in CDM+

· Monitor bank accounts on Southern Independent Bank (SIB) website

· Ensure all bank accounts are balanced accurately

· Pay bills and file appropriately

· Enter expenditures in CDM+

· Submit payroll direct deposits in CDM+

· Anticipate upcoming expenditures so the Church does not overdraw any bank accounts

· Run financial reports in CDM+ and provide to Church Leadership

· Credit card usage and oversight

· Purchase supplies as needed

· Monitor the Church budget

Secretarial Duties:

· Represent the Church with decency, integrity, and high Christian values at all times

· Foster communication within and outside of the Church:

o Phone, email, and in-person inquiries

o Flocknote text messaging

o Website development and maintenance

o Social media – post daily to Facebook page, add sermons to YouTube channel

o Canva – design graphics

o CDM+ Engage (online giving, church member list, event registration)

· Literature development, procurement, and stocking:

o Sunday School literature

o Bible Study literature

o Wednesday Night literature

o Devotionals and other literature as needed

· Document preparation and distribution:

o Attendance rosters (collect, enter data, return folders, and communicate results)

o Weekly Bulletin (includes constant oversight of event schedules)

o Weekly Prayer List

o Monthly Financial Reports

o Bimonthly Business Meeting Minutes

o Budget Tracking

o Documents for the Finance Committee

o Deacon Nomination/Election

o Annual Committee Sign-ups every September

o Church Membership Directory

o Sermon Notes for Kids and other handouts

o Welcome cards and Prayer Request cards in pews

o Church Suggestions cards

o Other reports, documents, and publications as needed

· Organization and tidiness:

o Ensure tables in the foyer, hallways, and other spaces look neat and tidy

o Ensure the pews and other sanctuary spaces are neat and tidy

o Supply the foyers, hallways, pews, and other spaces with needed items such as tithing envelopes, pamphlets, bulletins, prayer lists, etc.

Pay and Hours:

· Part-time position working about 20 hours per week

· Pay is $15.00 per hour
