Paralegal – Estate Planning, Probate & Elder Law

Martin Law Firm LLC – Greenfield, Indiana

Martin Law Firm has an opportunity for an experienced and detail-oriented Paralegal to join our team. Under general supervision, this position supports the delivery of high-quality legal services by providing administrative and technical assistance to the firm's attorney, performing complex and specialized paralegal duties, and working collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

This position works directly with the firm's owner and attorney as the primary assignment and requires a high degree of initiative, organization, sound judgment, professionalism, and discretion.

In this position, you will be involved in all aspects of the client journey, from initial information gathering to drafting legal documents and guiding clients through the signing process. If you enjoy both the technical precision of legal drafting and the human side of client interaction, this role offers a unique and rewarding balance.

This is a paid position with strong opportunities for professional growth, hands-on learning, and increased compensation as you gain mastery in your role.

Key Responsibilities

Draft and prepare estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, deeds, and business formation documents.
Assist with deed preparation and e-recording.
Work directly with clients to gather information, explain next steps, and guide them through the planning and signing process.
Review and proofread legal documents to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance.
Manage and maintain organized case files using MyCase, Microsoft Word, and other office technology.
Coordinate schedules, client meetings, and document signings to ensure a smooth workflow.
Provide administrative and operational support, including file management and client communications.
Handle phone and email inquiries with professionalism and a client-first approach.

What We're Looking For

Minimum of three years of experience as a paralegal, preferably in estate planning, probate, elder law, or a related practice area. Formal paralegal education may be considered in lieu of experience.
Critical thinking skills and exceptional attention to detail.
Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize work and efficiently manage multiple projects with competing deadlines.
Excellent organizational and project management skills.
Strong computer proficiency with Microsoft Word and legal practice management software (such as MyCase).
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
Clear, professional communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and a confident, client-centered phone presence.
A high level of professionalism, integrity, discretion, and the ability to maintain strict client confidentiality.
