Typical warehouse environment. Warehouse is not climate controlled. Office is climate controlled.
We are seeking a motivated detail-oriented Shipping and Finished Inventory Coordinator I to join our supply chain operations team. The SHIPPING AND FINISHED INVENTORY COORDINATOR manages the flow of goods into and out of the facility and manages warehouse storage. They verify shipment information, maintain inventory records, prepare items for shipment, operate material handling equipment and manage warehouse locations to ensure supply chain operations run accurately and on schedule.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Inspect Deliveries: Unload items including raw materials, check incoming packages against purchase orders, document damages or shortages, notify appropriate people of issues timely.
· Inventory Logging: May scan, key data or manually document inventory to update incoming or outgoing materials or internal movement of items.
· Staging: Route received goods to the correct storage locations or staging areas for production.
· Order Fulfillment: Pick, pack and palletize outgoing items according to customer orders.
· Paperwork/Recordkeeping: Generate shipping labels, packing slips, reports and bills of lading (BOL) as required.
· Carrier Coordination: Schedule outgoing freight trucks and track shipments to guarantee timely delivery as necessary. Work with Customer Service or other team members as required to meet goals.
· Order supplies or materials: Order supplies as directed.
· Equipment Operation: Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks and other lifting gear. Load and unload trucks.
· Safety: Follow OSHA guidelines and policies, maintain a clean work area including docks, report workplace hazards.
· Cycle Counts: Assist in regular inventory audits to maintain stock accuracy.
· Communication/Professionalism: Understand and follow instruction, including prescribed work methods, respond appropriately to direction and intact well with others, work well independently and on a team. Be well prepared for required meetings.
· Systems/Reliability: Maintain a high focus on accuracy, complete records, key and track data as needed manually, in MS Office programs (particularly Excel), or other programs.
· Flexibility: Work overtime or other shifts/days/hours as necessary. Although you are assigned a regular shift, there may be times where overtime or adjustments are needed to meet production goals.
· Quality: Focus on quality performance, ensuring accuracy in work.
· Quantity: Meet output expectations by producing an acceptable amount of work consistently, without sacrificing critical deadlines.
SKILLS REQUIRED:
· Good written and verbal skills to communicate needs or address issues with internal and external contacts, to follow or create instructions, etc.
· Proficient MS Office skills, particularly Excel, Word, Outlook or related spreadsheet, document and email systems. Must be able to key data reliably and efficiently. Ability to easily learn inventory or shipping management systems.
· Excellent organizational and time allocation skills.
· Good problem-solving skills and willingness to make decisions.
· Fine finger movement and ability to drive forklift, work with controls, knobs.
· Ability to work on platform, reach, twist, bend, push, pull, stoop, lift heavy weight (25 lbs comfortably, 50 lbs occasionally, up to 100 lbs. with assistance).
· Must be self-motivated and reliable to work alone without much direction. Must work well within teams and display professional behavior.
· Must be able to measure products with measuring tape.
· Must have great attention to detail, necessary to validate shipment and product information.
· Must have good basic mathematical skills.
· Perform other reasonably related duties as assigned.
AUTHORITIES:
· Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments.
· Package and stage product for shipping or internal movement following internal or customer requirements.
· Produce chemical declarations for chemical shipments.
· Locate and move materials and supplies in warehouse and key related transactions to systems to record movement.
· Order packaging supplies or other items as directed.
· Interact with truckers, dispatchers, providers or others to facilitate deliveries or pickups. Coordinate UPS and FEDEX mailings, or other special mailings.
· Operate powered industrial truck (forklift), wrapping machine, or other machinery used to facilitate movement or packaging of products or supplies. Load and unload trucks.
· Count inventory and use inventory management system or platforms used for shipments.
· Key transactions to inventory and shipping systems.
KNOWLEDGE/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
· High School diploma or GED is preferred.
· 2 years of experience in shipping and receiving with similar duties is preferred.
· 2 years of experience using inventory systems or similar types of systems is preferred.
· 2 years of experience in an industrial setting is preferred. Textile manufacturing background is ideal. Preference may be given to qualified internal candidates who have demonstrated above average aptitude for the process and job duties of the Shipping and Finished Inventory Coordinator.
· Proficiency with Excel, email, Word or similar software is required. Must have data entry skills.
· Good written and verbal communication skills are required.
· Ability to drive a forklift and use wrapping machine is a plus. Must be able to learn these skills with typical training.
· Ability to us UPS and FEDEX shipping system is preferred.
