Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Ambulance and/or Wheelchair Driver to join our dedicated transportation team. Responsibilities
- Safely operate ambulances, wheelchair vans, or other specialized vehicles to transport patients or clients to medical appointments, care facilities, or other destinations
- Assist passengers with boarding, disembarking, and securing mobility devices such as wheelchairs or stretchers
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks to ensure safety and compliance with regulations
- Communicate clearly with dispatchers, medical staff, and passengers to coordinate schedules and provide updates during transport
- Maintain accurate documentation of trips, passenger details, and vehicle logs in accordance with company policies
- Ensure adherence to all traffic laws, safety protocols, and health regulations during every shift
- Provide excellent customer service by demonstrating professionalism, compassion, and clear communication at all times
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with passengers and team members
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when assisting passengers or handling equipment safely
- Knowledge of vehicle maintenance basics and safety procedures
- Experience with paratransit services or commercial driving is a plus
- Excellent customer service skills with a positive attitude and professional demeanor
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and adhere to schedules efficiently
