Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Ambulance and/or Wheelchair Driver to join our dedicated transportation team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for safely transporting patients, clients, and equipment to various destinations, ensuring comfort and security throughout each journey. Your energetic approach and excellent customer service skills will help create a positive experience for those relying on our services. This paid position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in people's lives while honing your driving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Safely operate ambulances, wheelchair vans, or other specialized vehicles to transport patients or clients to medical appointments, care facilities, or other destinations
Assist passengers with boarding, disembarking, and securing mobility devices such as wheelchairs or stretchers
Conduct routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks to ensure safety and compliance with regulations
Communicate clearly with dispatchers, medical staff, and passengers to coordinate schedules and provide updates during transport
Maintain accurate documentation of trips, passenger details, and vehicle logs in accordance with company policies
Ensure adherence to all traffic laws, safety protocols, and health regulations during every shift
Provide excellent customer service by demonstrating professionalism, compassion, and clear communication at all times

Requirements

Valid driver’s license
Strong communication skills to interact effectively with passengers and team members
Ability to perform heavy lifting when assisting passengers or handling equipment safely
Knowledge of vehicle maintenance basics and safety procedures
Experience with paratransit services or commercial driving is a plus
Excellent customer service skills with a positive attitude and professional demeanor
Ability to follow detailed instructions and adhere to schedules efficiently
