Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in dental assisting procedures, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to providing exceptional patient care. As a Dental Assistant, you will support dentists during clinical procedures, manage patient records, and ensure the smooth operation of the dental practice. Your role is vital in delivering a comfortable and efficient experience for our patients while maintaining high standards of safety and hygiene.

Duties

Assist dentists during various procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring all instruments and materials are prepared and sterilized according to infection control protocols.
Operate dental imaging equipment such as X-ray machines and 3D scanners to capture accurate diagnostic images while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy.
Manage electronic medical records (EMR systems) like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic to document patient information accurately and efficiently.
Take vital signs and medical histories to assess patient health status prior to treatment, ensuring comprehensive medical documentation.
Provide chairside assistance with four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance workflow efficiency and patient comfort.
Maintain a sterile environment using aseptic techniques and proper infection control procedures in compliance with industry standards.
Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing dental receptionist duties, and coordinating patient flow within the clinic.
Educate patients on oral health practices, treatment plans, and post-procedure care to promote ongoing dental health.

Skills

Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including chairside support, medical imaging, and vital signs measurement.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and specific fields such as prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
Experience working with EMR systems like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic for accurate medical documentation and record-keeping.
Familiarity with infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures within a dental clinic environment.
Ability to operate advanced dental technology including 3D scanners and X-ray equipment safely and effectively.
Excellent communication skills to interact confidently with patients of all ages, especially pediatrics, fostering trust and comfort.
Knowledge of medical coding related to dental procedures for accurate billing and insurance claims processing.
