Full Job Description

Job Title: Lab Associate (Microbiology / Molecular Biology)

Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated Laboratory Associate to support microbiology and molecular biology activities in a fast-paced lab environment. This role will focus on media and buffer preparation, fermentation support, and analytical testing using standard laboratory techniques.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare media and buffers to support laboratory operations
Process fermentation samples using standard analytical techniques
Perform environmental monitoring and maintain aseptic conditions
Conduct cell viability assays and protein analysis (PAGE gels)
Assist with fermentation scale-up activities and analytical equipment operation
Support microbial identification and perform qPCR analysis
Maintain accurate documentation of lab activities

Required Skills

Microbiology techniques
PCR / qPCR
Protein purification and analysis
Cell culture and cell-based assays
Aseptic technique
Media, buffer, and sample preparation
Fermentation processes
Environmental monitoring

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, or related field
1-2+ years of professional experience (entry-level candidates encouraged to apply)
2+ years of hands-on lab experience (academic lab work acceptable)
Experience with aseptic technique and cell culture

Experience Level

Intermediate level

Nice to Have

Experience with fermentation processes
Exposure to molecular biology techniques (qPCR, microbial ID)
Familiarity with protein analysis methods

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $26.00/hr.
