Full Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Lead Real Estate Paralegal to join our busy real estate law office and title company. The ideal candidate is a highly organized, detail-oriented professional with a deep understanding of the full real estate closing process—from file opening through post-closing—and the ability to manage a high volume of transactions in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Independently manage and process 30–40 real estate files per month from opening to closing.
Open new files in Qualia, ensuring all data entry, documentation, and compliance requirements are accurate and complete.
Coordinate communication with agents, lenders, attorneys, and clients throughout each transaction.
Examine title reports, identify and resolve title issues, and prepare necessary curative documentation.
Draft and review settlement statements, deeds, discharges, affidavits, and related closing documents.
Schedule and coordinate closings, ensuring all parties are informed and all requirements are met.
Balance and disburse funds according to ALTA best practices and lender instructions.
Oversee post-closing tasks, including recording and final policy issuance.
Serve as the point of contact for team members on complex files, workflow questions, and Qualia system processes.
Ensure all work complies with company policies, state regulations, and lender requirements.

Qualifications

Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a real estate paralegal or title processor.
Proficiency in Qualia is required; experience with other title software is a plus.
Strong knowledge of Massachusetts and/or New England real estate transactions (purchase, sale, and refinance).
Excellent communication, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
Exceptional attention to detail and ability to thrive in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.
Team-oriented with the ability to lead, train, and support junior staff.

Preferred Attributes

Notary Public license (or ability to obtain one).
Prior experience working directly with lenders, brokers, and agents.
Familiarity with ALTA Best Practices and CFPB compliance.

Compensation & Benefits

Competitive salary commensurate with experience.
