Reports To

The Custodian will report to Cambridge True Value Home Center, Inc., dba Bay 15.

Job Overview

As a Custodian, the ideal candidate will be responsible for the maintenance and well-being of several properties through Bay 15, including cleaning workspaces, warehouses, and rental properties, and looking after the general condition and security of the premises.

The position is part-time. The hours are Monday – Friday between 6:00am-6:00pm (Scheduled hours will be set upon hire).

Responsibilities and Duties

General outdoor services and maintenance, such as watering plants, (snow removal in the winter), sweeping entry areas, cleaning glass doors at entrances etc.…
Performing minor repairs and general maintenance upkeep as needed
Replace air filters and maintain HVAC systems
Inspect fire alarms, extinguisshers, and emergency systems
Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance
Lockdown facilities at the end of the day, including locking doors, closing windows, and setting the alarm
Other duties assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Possess a valid driver’s license
Ability to travel to multiple locations in a work day **not to exceed 60 miles one way**
Able to lift up to 40 lbs
Must be 18 years of age or older
Comfortable with basic landscaping and maintenance tasks
Detail-oriented and conscientiousness

Preferred Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Some professional work experience as a custodian, janitor, or similar role is a plus
Working knowledge of industrial cleaning equipment and appliances, and how to maintain them
Understanding of safety protocols, such as the disposal of chemicals and other hazardous items
Knowledge of safe and proper uses of insecticides to prevent or clear infestation by pests
