Location: Hybrid - Angleton, Pearland, or League City
Compensation: $150K-$170K + Bonus Opportunities
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Managing Attorney to lead our Family Law practice. The Managing Attorney will oversee case strategy, supervise attorneys and support staff, manage client relationships, and ensure high-quality legal services in matters including divorce, child custody, child support, and related family law issues. This role blends litigation and case management with leadership responsibilities to grow the practice, maintain compliance, and deliver excellent client outcomes.
Key Responsibilities

Provide high-quality representation in family law matters including divorce, custody, visitation, child support, spousal support, prenuptial agreements, and enforcement actions.

Manage and mentor a team of attorneys, paralegals, and support staff; delegate assignments, review work product, and provide ongoing training and performance feedback.

Oversee case management processes from intake through resolution: develop legal strategies, supervise hearings and trials, and ensure timely filings and court appearances.

Maintain and enhance client relationships: conduct consultations, set clear expectations, keep clients informed, and resolve client concerns professionally.

Develop and implement practice policies, procedures, and quality standards to ensure consistent legal service delivery and compliance with ethical and regulatory requirements.

Lead business development and community outreach efforts to grow the family law practice, including client referrals, networking, and marketing initiatives.

Monitor firm finances and workflow metrics for the practice area; collaborate with firm management on budgeting, staffing, and resource allocation.

Ensure effective use of technology and case management systems to increase efficiency and maintain accurate case records and billing.

Stay current on relevant statutes, case law, and family court procedures; provide training and updates to the team on legal developments.
Qualifications

Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Admission to practice in Texas

TBLS certification in Family Law

15+ years of substantive family law experience with a strong record of practice in divorce, custody, and child support matters.

Proven leadership experience managing attorneys and legal staff, including hiring, supervision, and professional development.

Demonstrated ability to handle complex custody disputes, child support calculations, and high-conflict separations with sound legal judgment and client-centered advocacy.

Excellent written and oral communication skills, strong legal research and drafting abilities, and competency in case management software and billing systems.

Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize competing deadlines and manage a high-volume caseload.

High ethical standards, sound professional judgment, and the ability to maintain client confidentiality and manage sensitive family matters with discretion.

Business development experience or willingness to engage in marketing, client relations, and community outreach to grow the practice.
