We’re seeking a proactive and detail-driven Underwriter to support our Underwriting department. In this role, you’ll manage administrative and customer service tasks related to insurance policy renewals, new applications, and updates—ensuring accurate data handling and seamless communication with clients and internal teams.

What You'll Do:

Be the first point of contact for incoming calls and inquiries, providing courteous and knowledgeable support
Communicate confidently with agents, brokers, and policyholders via phone and email
Gather, track, and follow up on documentation for new and renewal insurance applications
Maintain a follow-up system to ensure timely receipt of required materials
Enter, update, and manage detailed data in internal systems and Excel
Draft concise correspondence and internal notes
Collaborate with the team, accept feedback, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement
Additional duties as needed

What We’re Looking For:

· Active Iowa Property & Casualty (P&C) Producer license, or the ability to obtain within 90 days of hire *

· Ability to obtain Surplus Lines license within 90 days of hire*

* (We offer reimbursement for insurance exam fees and provide study materials to help you prepare and succeed in obtaining required licenses.)

· Minimum of 3 years of experience in the insurance industry

· Strong attention to detail and accuracy with the ability to prioritize

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

· High level of organization with the ability to multitask

· Comfort using databases, Microsoft Excel, and internal systems

· Customer service or administrative experience—insurance background

· A dependable team player with a desire to learn and grow
