Full Job Description

Responsibilities*

Perform ADLs
Trach suctioning and urinary catheter
Monitor patient status, record and document vital signs, I?s & O?s, blood sugars, and reporting any outside parameters to nurses.
Stock and maintain inventory of specialized areas.
Transport patients to and from designated locations.
Assist with admitting and discharge procedures.
Perform other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications*

Graduation from high school or an equivalent combination of education and experience

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This position requires moderate standing/walking, as well as lifting, positioning, pushing, and/or transferring of patients

Desired Qualifications*

Reasonable knowledge of methods, materials and equipment used in patient care activities.
CNA certificate.
Experience in patient-facing work
Pediatric patient experience

Modes of Work

Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department. Work agreements are reviewed annually at a minimum and are subject to change at any time, and for any reason, throughout the course of employment. Learn more about the work modes.

Work Schedule

SHIFT: Days (12 hours)

TIME: 7:00 am - 7:30 pm

HOLIDAYS: Work 3 holidays per year

Union Affiliation

This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours, and other terms and conditions of employment.

Background Screening

Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings. Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
