Line Cook Maple House | South Lyon, MI

You know the rhythm of a busy line. We want to talk to you.

Maple House is a neighborhood brunch, coffee, and cocktail spot in South Lyon — and we're hiring experienced line cooks who can hold their own when tickets stack up and the rail gets deep.

This isn't a slow café gig. Brunch volume is real volume. We need cooks who've worked the heat, can fire six tickets at once without losing the eighth, and know that consistency at 11:30 on a Saturday is what separates good kitchens from great ones.

We're a thoughtful, beautiful restaurant — but the kitchen runs like a kitchen. Clean stations, sharp communication, real standards. We take food, coffee, and cocktails seriously. We don't take ourselves too seriously.

What You'll Do

Run a station through high-volume brunch service — eggs, griddle, sauté, or pantry depending on fit
Execute recipes consistently, plate after plate, ticket after ticket
Hold your prep list and your station to a standard you'd want to inherit
Communicate cleanly with the line, expo, and chef — call it back, fire on time, push when it's up
Keep your station clean, organized, and ready for whoever's behind you
Contribute to a team that's still shaping how this kitchen runs

What We're Looking For

2+ years on a line in a high-volume or scratch kitchen (brunch experience is a plus, not required)
Speed without sloppiness, and consistency without ego
Solid knife skills, station discipline, and timing
Ability to read a board, anticipate the rush, and stay composed when it gets loud
A team-first mindset — you make the cook next to you better
ServSafe or willingness to obtain
Must be 18+
