POSITION SUMMARY: The Billing Coordinator position manages and evaluates a large amount of accounts with complex billing requirements. In addition, the Billing Coordinator is required to maintain their accounts with a high degree of accuracy to guarantee company revenue. A Billing Coordinator should have a keen eye for detail and should be comfortable working with little supervision to meet tight deadlines.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible to manage and maintain a workload of approximately 10,000 accounts with a monthly revenue of $2.5 million.

Reviews and ensures accuracy of customer accounts and charges to be invoiced.

Create customized invoices based on customer contracts including PDF and Excel formats.

Research multiple invoicing disputes and processes manual A/R adjustments as needed.

Analyze and reconcile transactions of a complicated nature to ensure account is compliant with contract.

Works with the Collections team to identify and resolve billing-related issues to ensure clean aging.

Resolve all requests received through multiple ticketing systems in a timely manner.

Communicating and collaborating with internal and external customers.

Performs other job-related duties as assigned or apparent.
QUALIFICATIONS:

High-level attention to detail and accuracy.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

2 years of experience in a billing/accounting related role with strong numerical skills.

3 years of experience with MS Excel which includes pivot tables and vlookups.

Must be able to analyze large amounts of data.

Candidates must be able to work 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM local time. During the initial training period, the position is fully onsite at our Livonia office. Upon successful completion of training, employees will transition to a hybrid schedule of three days onsite and two days remote, with work-from-home days on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Sustainability Innovation
Republic’s recent innovations to advance circularity and decarbonization demonstrate our unique ability to leverage sustainability as a platform for growth.
The Republic Services Polymer Center is the nation’s first integrated plastics recycling facility. These innovative sites process rigid plastics from our recycling centers, producing recycled materials that promote true bottle-to-bottle circularity. We also formed Blue Polymers, a joint venture with Ravago, to develop facilities that will further process plastic material from our Polymer Centers to help meet the growing demand for sustainable packaging. We are building a network of Polymer Centers and Blue Polymer facilities across North America.
Our customers are increasingly looking for decarbonization solutions, and we are leveraging our network of landfills to meet that need. Republic is committed to harnessing landfill gas, a natural byproduct of decomposing waste, and converting it to energy. Republic has partnered with renewable gas developers to construct Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) plants at our landfills, expanding beyond the 77 projects we currently have to make progress towards our goal to beneficially reuse 50% more biogas by 2030 (2017 baseline year).
