CNC Programmer/Machinist

Jack & Sons Welding and Fabricating LLC has an exciting opportunity for an outgoing, energetic individual looking for a manufacturing career. The successful candidate will have CNC knowledge, have ambition, ability to multi-task, and is team driven and will work hard and apply yourself. This position is for a programmer as well as an operator. If you have the right attitude and possess the skills in these areas and are willing to learn more, this is the opportunity for you!

Duties

- Program, set up and operate CNC machines to perform precision machining operations for short run, prototyping projects.

- Sets up tools and fixtures.

- Write CNC programs using G-code and Mastercam.

- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications to determine machining operations

- Select the appropriate tools, fixtures, and materials for each job. Custom fixtures may need to be designed & manufactured based on project needs.

- Monitor machine performance and make adjustments as necessary to ensure quality and efficiency

- Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet specifications

- Troubleshoot and resolve any programming or machining issues.

- Maintain a clean and organized work area

- Ability to work on a team and work with welders.

Qualifications

- Work independently, strong work ethic, and self-motivated.

- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

- GD&T knowledge.

- Strong oral and written communication skills.

- Mechanically inclined

- Detail oriented and organized with the ability to handle multiple ongoing projects and meet deadlines.

- Must be able to work well in fast paced environments.

- Able to work overtime if needed.

Experience

- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a CNC Machinist

- Proficiency in CAD/CAM software

- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and practices

- Experience with machining processes such as milling, turning, and drilling.

- Ability to read and interpret weld symbols, blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications

- Strong mathematical skills for performing basic calculations

- Understand hand measurement tools (height gauges & calibers)

- Proficiency in using hand tools for assembly and disassembly

Requirements

- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.

- This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. Jack & Sons will require proof of status prior to employment.
