On the ground, dnata USA keeps 27 of the country’s major airports connected – both with each other and the world - including John F. Kennedy Airport in New York City. Handling 200,000 tonnes of cargo, guiding 15,000,000 passengers and keeping 50,000 flights in the air each year, the work that the dnata USA team complete on the ground is crucial to keeping the country in the air.

Job Title: Regional Human Resources Manager
Location: US East Region (Field-Based / Regional Office)
Reports To: VP, People Strategy
Department: Human Resources
FLSA Status: Exempt: pay will depend on experience, location, skills, certifications, and internal equity

Position Summary
The Regional Human Resources Manager (RHRM) provides strategic HR leadership, operational oversight, and consultative guidance across multiple airport stations within East Region of dnata US, except NY. Serving as a key bridge between Corporate HR Leadership and the field, this role applies deep business knowledge and human resources expertise across multiple jurisdictions to continuously optimize operational efficiencies. The RHRM oversees local HR Managers and serves as a trusted advisor to the Area Directors, Station General Managers, and cross-functional leadership, ensuring the successful execution of corporate strategies, compliance, and culture-building initiatives while facilitating positive relationships between Team Members and Senior Management.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Cross-Functional Partnership

Corporate & Strategy Realization: Partner with Senior Management to establish and execute human resources strategies, translating corporate initiatives and Center of Excellence (COE) rollouts into actionable regional plans.
Cross-Functional Consultation: Provide strategic advice, HR expertise, and day-to-day consultation to operations and station management.
Change Management: Act as a catalyst for organizational development by recommending innovative approaches, progressive policies, and change management procedures to optimize regional efficiency.
Data & Progress Tracking: Generate and interpret regional HR metrics (e.g., turnover, headcount, audit compliance) to provide high-level insights, keeping details organized to track task progress and strategic initiatives to completion.

Compliance, Labor & Operations

Multi-Jurisdictional Compliance: Direct and lead the administration of company policies, ensuring strict adherence to airport authority guidelines, federal, state, and local labor laws across multiple jurisdictions.
Comprehensive Labor Relations: Manage the regional deployment and implementation of Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBAs); ensure the contract is followed, support grievances and arbitrations, and participate in collective bargaining activities.
End-to-End Employee Relations: Manage internal and external compliance or employee complaints within the region from initial notification through thorough investigation and final resolution. Assist legal and corporate teams with responses to discovery requests.
Separation & Vetting Management: Oversee the formal vetting, processing, and documentation of employee separations and exit practices across the region.
Systems & Payroll Integrity: Oversee regional data integrity, benefits inquiry workflows (including advisory on leave of absence), and optimal HRIS system usage, maximizing the capabilities of the Dayforce platform.

Talent Management & Culture

Talent Development & Coaching: Serve as a dedicated coach, mentor, and liaison for GMs and local HR teams. Lead workforce planning, succession planning, and conduct annual training or development sessions as necessary.
Performance Expectations: Coordinate the regional performance management program, ensuring that performance expectations, coaching cycles, evaluations, and policy guidance are met satisfactorily.
Engagement & EEO Champion: Champion employee engagement, diversity, and equity initiatives across all stations. Provide strategic assistance on Equal Employment Opportunity plans, objective setting, and response administration.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Experience: 4–6 years of progressive Human Resources experience, ideally including multi-site regional oversight or senior HR generalist experience within high-volume, operational, or unionized environments.
Legal & Industry Knowledge: Sound knowledge and understanding of HR best practices, local labor laws, and airport/aviation regulatory compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
Professionalism & Discretion: Demonstrated ability to manage highly confidential matters with appropriate discretion, sound judgment, and a customer-focused, professional attitude.
Leadership & Communication: Excellent interpersonal communication skills with a proven ability to motivate, collaborate, lead, and foster a team environment across remote locations.
Organization & Execution: Highly organized, detail-oriented, and dependable, with the ability to effectively prioritize, meet strict deadlines, and deliver prompt, courteous customer service.
Technical Literacy: Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); experience with HRIS systems required, with Dayforce experience strongly preferred.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

Environment: Field-based role requiring a consistent presence across regional airport stations, encountering typical operational and field environments. Regular, punctual, and dependable attendance is required.
Flexibility: Must be flexible to support a 24/7 aviation environment, including occasional evenings, weekends, or holidays as operational needs or project deadlines dictate.
Travel: Ability to travel across the region as required (up to 20–30%) to conduct site visits, audits, trainings, or attend corporate initiatives.
Physical Demands: Ability to move throughout various airport stations and terminal environments. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions, provided they do not create an undue hardship for the company.
