PURPOSE:
Design, estimate, and sell new construction and remodeling projects for builders, remodeling contractors, and retail clients.
Provide oversight and training as needed for fellow Sales Team members as determined by KBC Leadership Team. To include, but not limited to, client qualification, design review, quote review, and client concern management.
Assume a lead role within the Sales Team to assist with showroom design, vendor and product qualification, and the upkeep of point of sales materials (samples & literature) in assigned showroom.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Sales & Design
- Meet potential clients and gather information about their project
- Determine budget and time frame of proposed project
- Design, specify materials, and estimate project
- Complete field measure of space to confirm all measurements prior to finalizing design and quote
- Provide final plans and if needed, attend pre-construction appointments with tradespeople
- Be able to sell / close projects and meet monthly sales goals
- Communicate with clients, subcontractors, and co-workers, as appropriate, demonstrating exceptional client service
- Develop an extensive knowledge of our product offering
- Provide showroom coverage to greet, qualify, and assist any potential, current, or past clients
- Assist in showroom coverage at unassigned locations as needed
- Assist with coverage of and corrective actions on existing accounts as determined by KBC Leadership Team
Training
Coordinate with Director of Sales Operations for ongoing training for Sales Team on the following:
- Design Strategies - efficiency in design and quotation, standardized quote presentation, maximizing gross profits.
- Order processing - to ensure acknowledgements are being reviewed efficiently and thoroughly
- Product training – training on new and existing products, updates on products and review and discussion of adding new products
- Customer presentations – Providing final plans, drawings, and quotes and most effective ways of presenting to clients
- Improve communication and cooperation between Sales Team and Client ServicesAssist in making sure KBC Policies and Procedures are being followed
- Communication - with clients, subcontractors, co-workers, as appropriate, to help demonstrate exceptional client service
Showrooms
- Ensure assigned showroom is kept clean and up to date.
- Ensure Manufacturers Representatives are doing their due diligence for your assigned showroom location
- Ensure literature and samples are up to date
- Assist in coordination of design for showroom vignettes at assigned location
- Assist in resolution of client concerns with layout/design/ordering or factory issues as directed by KBC Leadership
Additional responsibilities:
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams from Sales, IT, Operations, Marketing, HR, on
- an as needed basis. Project examples will include but not limited to refinement of
- processes, procedures, and culture recognition.
- Develop an extensive knowledge of KBC’s product offering and present potential for
- enhancements to the Leadership Team. Those presentations would include specific new
- products and opportunities.
- Assist in coverage at unassigned locations as needed.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position has no specific supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or GED, some college courses beyond high school preferred
- Must be proficient in Kitchen and Bath Design, using 2020 Design, MS Office, Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Excellent communication and organization skills
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task
- The ability to work in a team environment
- Understand the sales process and meet monthly sales goals
- Enjoy designing and creating unique living spaces
- Be self-motivated, goal oriented with clear personal and career goals
- Be detail oriented
- Ability to read, and interpret common business documents including reports, charts, graphs, and diagrams
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or listen. The employee frequently is required to use hands and to feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. This job does require completing field measures, traveling to job sites, walking from unit to unit, completing the measure, and walking up and down stairs will be required.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Typical office environment. The noise level is usually moderate.
- The initial training for this role will be conducted in our Columbia, MD location and be on a
- Monday – Friday schedule (8:30-5:00)
- Once assigned to a store location, the schedule could include a range of Monday – Saturday hours
- (actual hours may vary by location) not to exceed 5 days per weeks
- 40 hours per week including a possible Saturday rotation.
Pay: $65,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
