Position Title: Marketing Specialist
Position Location: CMP South, 1470 Sentinel Drive, Anniston, AL, with the potential to work remotely
FLSA: Salary Exempt
Reports To: Chief Marketing Officer
Position Summary:
Marketing Specialist will promote the CMP’s products and services to existing and prospective customers through strategic use of graphics, logos, and other promotional products.
Specific program and job assignments are determined by the CCO and are subject to change. Assignments include
Position Responsibilities:
The responsibilities of the position include:
o Assist in the creation and implementation of new programs/products/services..
o Ensure CMP’s brand image is kept at a high standard with all advertising and printed literature.
o Based on assessment, write drafts and proposals for communication campaigns that would benefit the CMP’s brand.
o Write advertising copy, design advertising layouts, prepare artwork for use in print and electronic advertising formats including newspapers, newsletters, direct mailing pieces, emailed electronic files, radio advertising and television advertising.
o To work with the Communications Manager on new advertisements for website.
o Work with range managers (all) on promotion of the ranges.
o Evaluate success of campaigns when completed by collecting and maintain sales records or event attendance to track, review and modify performance of marketing initiatives.
o Establish and maintain positive relationships with media, local communities, competitors and vendors.
o Provide recommendations and methods to improve public relations for the CMP.
o Provide monthly reports/updates to General Manager.
o Provide vacation and sick time requests in advance to General Manager for approval and coordinate schedule changes.
o Follow proper chain of command and communicate functions with General Manager.
o All other duties as assigned.
Relationships:
Contacts with other CMP management staff, coordinators & managers, officers and competitions officials, CMP affiliates, local youth program leaders, military leaders, other shooting organizations, vendors, CMP customers/shooters and all types of media.
Guidelines Available to Employee:
CMP Policies, CMP Board decisions, and CMP Employee Handbook. Employee exercises a great deal of personal judgment and discretion.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
Most work is done in an office environment with full data processing support. Many events are conducted on outside ranges, CMP ranges and in classrooms. Travel is required.

High – the Marketing Specialist is responsible for all printed materials that are used to promote the CMP. The ability to administer guidelines, rules and procedures is crucial to effectively accomplish the CMP’s mission.
High – The work involves planning, developing and carrying out vital projects and programs which are crucial to the company’s success and fulfill the CMP’s mission. The CMP marketing personnel continually promotes the CMP and the marksmanship park.
Position Qualifications:
Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university, or five to ten years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Skills/Training: The ability to gain an in depth knowledge of all CMP operations. Excellent computer skills with the ability to use MSWord, Excel and proprietary data processing programs are required. Ability to effectively communicate with affiliate leaders, vendors, military leaders, community members and competitors/customers is required.
Travel is required. A valid driver’s license is required for travel and driving CMP owned vehicles.
