The Mortuary Removal Technician is responsible for transporting deceased human remains to funeral homes, crematories, and medical examiner's facilities from places of death including hospitals, nursing homes and other institutions, private residences, and accident scenes.
The candidate must reside within a 35-mile radius of Anniston, Alabama.
This position will require work to be performed in Calhoun County and surrounding areas and may also require commuting to other areas on shifts or on a call-by-call basis.
This position will also require commuting to our office in Birmingham office 2-3 days a week to work 12-hour shifts (day shift) in addition to being "on-call" from home in Calhoun County.
The ideal applicant is dependable and a fast learner who has strong communication skills and represents themselves in a professional manner.
Those seeking full-time employment must be able to work "on call" for 10 days straight, 24 hours, and be off every other 4-day weekend.
Responsibilities
-Safely performs removals and transports of deceased human remains in company vehicle to specified locations in accordance with company policies and local laws
-Represents the company and its clients in a professional manner by following best practices
-Maintains a clean driving record that is acceptable to commercial insurance carriers
-Performs on-call responsibilities, including nights, holidays and weekends
Qualifications
-Must be able to follow instructions and task-oriented
-Must work well with a team
-Must follow all company policies and procedures as provided in training and follow company business professional dress code
-Must be comfortable with communicating in a professional manner in difficult situations
-Must be able to work rotating weekends
-Must be high school graduate or GED equivalent
-Must have ability to push/pull 75 lbs. and lift 50 lbs. for short intervals
-Must have valid state-issued driver's license and clean driving record
-Must consent to background check and randomized drug testing
