Content Creator / Social Media Manager
We are looking for someone creative, reliable, and current on social media trends to take ownership of our social media presence.
This is not a position where you will be waiting for someone to tell you what to post, what to film, or what is trending. We are looking for someone who can come in, understand our center and our brand, and take the lead on creating content that feels fun, current, professional, and authentic.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Managing and creating content for our current social media platforms, primarily Facebook
- Helping us build and grow additional platforms, including TikTok
- Taking photos and videos around the center
- Creating Reels, short-form videos, graphics, and other engaging content
- Writing captions and planning posts
- Keeping up with current social media trends and finding ways to appropriately use them for our center
- Creating content around special events, activities, classroom moments, holidays, staff highlights, and other things happening throughout the center
- Helping keep our website and online presence current when needed
- Organizing photos and videos so content is easy to find and reuse
- Planning content ahead of time instead of relying on last-minute posts
- Helping us determine what types of content perform well and adjusting accordingly
We currently post approximately 1–2 times per week, but we are very open to increasing that based on what you believe will work best.
What We’re Looking For
We care much more about your ability to create good content than where you learned how to do it.
A degree is not required.
What matters most to us is that you can show us your work and demonstrate that you understand social media, trends, content creation, and what gets people’s attention.
We are looking for someone who:
- Is comfortable independently managing social media
- Has a strong eye for photos, videos, and visual content
- Understands Reels, TikTok, Facebook, and current trends
- Can edit short-form videos
- Can create clean, professional graphics
- Writes captions that feel natural and engaging
- Is creative and regularly comes up with new ideas
- Can work independently without needing constant direction
- Is comfortable being around children and working within a child care environment
- Understands that privacy and appropriate use of children’s photos and videos is extremely important
- Is dependable and able to follow through consistently
Experience & Portfolio
Previous professional experience is helpful, but it is not required.
If you have personally grown a social media page, created content for another business, worked freelance, or have a strong portfolio of your own work, we would love to see it.
Your starting pay will be heavily based on the quality of your previous work, experience, creativity, and how independently you are able to take over the role.
Schedule
This is a part-time position, approximately 5–8 hours per week to start.
There is flexibility in when those hours are worked, although some time will need to be spent at the center capturing photos and videos.
This could be a great fit for someone looking for additional income, someone already working freelance, a college student, or someone who enjoys content creation and wants to build their portfolio.
Pay
$15–$21 per hour, based on experience and demonstrated ability.
Applicants who can show strong previous results, professional-quality content, successful social media pages, or a strong portfolio may start toward the higher end of the range.
The Biggest Thing We’re Looking For
We want someone who can eventually make social media one less thing for us to manage.
Our goal is to be able to trust you to see what is happening around the center, know what is worth capturing, understand what is trending, create the content, and keep our social media active and engaging without needing constant direction.
Pay: $15.00 - $21.00 per hour
Work Location: In person
