About Reel25

Reel25 is a short-form video intelligence platform for agencies, brands, and founders. Customers add public TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts accounts or videos by URL, then use one dashboard to track performance, compare creators, spot emerging patterns, and understand which content converts.

The product works across individual videos and thousands of accounts, with recurring metric refreshes, analytics, AI-assisted niche research, and tools that turn proven patterns into new scripts.

The opportunity

We are looking for a Python Developer to build data-processing and AI-assisted capabilities that work alongside Reel25's TypeScript platform. You will focus on turning large volumes of short-form video activity into trustworthy product data and useful customer insights.

We are open to strong mid-level and senior candidates and will calibrate ownership to experience.

Our current stack

Languages: TypeScript across the core application and services, with role-specific Python or Java services where they are the right fit.
Frontend: React and Next.js.
Backend: Node.js and NestJS services and APIs.
Database: PostgreSQL with Drizzle ORM.
Background work: Inngest for scheduled jobs, background processing, retries, and workflow orchestration.
Cloud and deployment: Vercel deployments behind Cloudflare.
Product services: Clerk for authentication, Stripe for billing, PostHog for product analytics, and Featurebase for customer support and feedback.
Data and AI integrations: Apify and Firecrawl for public-web data workflows, plus OpenRouter for AI model access.

You do not need prior experience with every tool in this list. Strong fundamentals and equivalent experience with comparable frameworks, relational databases, queues or workflow systems, cloud deployments, testing, and observability are welcome.

What you'll own

Build Python services and workflows for collecting, normalizing, enriching, and analyzing video and account data.
Create dependable integrations that handle rate limits, retries, partial failures, schema changes, and duplicate events.
Develop scheduled and asynchronous workloads that refresh performance metrics reliably.
Model product data and write efficient SQL for analytics across creators, accounts, and videos.
Contribute to AI-assisted research and content-analysis workflows.
Integrate Python workloads with the existing TypeScript, NestJS, PostgreSQL, and Inngest environment.
Improve testing, observability, deployment safety, documentation, and incident response.
Work with product, frontend, and backend teammates to ship small, measurable improvements.

What success looks like

Data workflows remain accurate and observable as tracked accounts and videos grow.
Processing delays, duplicate records, and silent failures are measurable and steadily reduced.
New integrations and metrics can be added without destabilizing existing workflows.
Customers receive timely, consistent insights across TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts.

What we're looking for

Practical Python experience and a good understanding of maintainable application design.
Experience with APIs, SQL or relational data, and background or scheduled processing.
Familiarity with testing, debugging, monitoring, and production deployment.
Ability to explain trade-offs, collaborate clearly, and follow work through to production.
Product judgment: you care whether the resulting data is useful and trustworthy.
