Full Job Description

Precision CNC Machine Shop – Apopka, Florida

AK Machining is looking for a motivated individual with precision machine shop experience to join our team. This position supports both our Haas CNC milling department and our deburr and sawcut department. The ideal candidate has experience setting up Haas CNC mills using existing programs and enjoys working in multiple areas of the shop to support production.

This position provides ongoing training and opportunities for advancement in our milling department, making it an excellent fit for someone looking to continue developing their CNC setup and machining skills.

Job Responsibilities

Set up and operate Haas CNC mills
Make tool and work offsets
Verify part dimensions using precision inspection equipment
Produce quality machined parts while maintaining close tolerances
Perform deburring, polishing, grinding, sanding, and cleaning of machined parts
Operate shop equipment including NC saw, manual mill, forklift, and other equipment
Assist with shop maintenance, including checking coolant levels, emptying chip barrels, and maintaining a clean work area

Qualifications

Experience operating Haas CNC mills, experience in set up using existing programs is a plus
Understanding of machining practices and blueprint reading
Experience using inspection equipment such as calipers, micrometers, and depth gauges
Experience deburring machined parts
Ability to rotate between CNC mills and the deburr/sawcut department
Mechanical aptitude and strong hands-on ability
Excellent work ethic and dependable attendance
Vocational machining school or additional CNC training is a plus

Job Details

Position: Full-Time
Starting Pay: From $18-$20/hour depending on experience
Standard Shift: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
Flexible Hours and Overtime Available

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
