Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Electrical Engineer whose primary focus will be developing, reviewing, and supporting electrical schematic designs for control cabinets, wiring layouts, and associated documentation. The ideal candidate will bring experience in control and power distribution wiring, cabinet design, and hands-on collaboration with manufacturing teams.

In general, we’re seeking an Electrical CAD Designer to design and document low-voltage control systems that meet UL 508A and applicable NEC/UL standards. Create accurate electrical schematics, panel layouts, wiring diagrams, and supporting Bills of Materials (BOMs), working closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure designs are safe, compliant, manufacturable, and cost-effective.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain electrical and control schematics, wiring diagrams, interconnect drawings, and panel layouts for control cabinets.
Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs), cable schedules, and wire lists.
Collaborate with mechanical engineering team to ensure designs integrate with equipment and enclosure layouts.
Review and revise existing schematics and electrical designs to support continuous improvement, standardization, and cost reduction.
Support the assembly team during panel build (review schematics, clarify wiring, resolve issues).
When required, assist in commissioning (wiring checks, debugging, troubleshooting).
Ensure designs meet applicable industry and safety standards (NEC, UL, etc.).
Liaise with vendors and suppliers to specify components (relays, terminal blocks, circuit breakers, etc.)
Document control of schematics, revisions, and as-built drawings.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent; or strong relevant experience in controls and power systems.
3+ years of experience in working with control panels, power distribution, electrical schematics and cabinets
Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical, E-CAD, or similar schematic design software (or equivalent electrical CAD tools).
Ability to read and interpret mechanical layouts and integrate with enclosure designs.
Experience with NEC/UL standards or relevant electrical safety/codes.
Excellent attention to detail, organization, and documentation discipline.
Strong communication skills; ability to collaborate across disciplines (mechanical and assembly teams)
Experience in troubleshooting electrical issues in control panels

Working Conditions

· Air-conditioned manufacturing facility. Please note temperatures may still be warm due to machinery and powder-coating operations. Applicants must be able to work in warm warehouse conditions.

· PPE (safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, etc.) provided by the company.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a manufacturing environment.
Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and reach for extended periods.
