Overview

Join our team orientated office as a Dental Assistant and become a vital part of delivering exceptional patient care in a family focused, friendly environment! In this role, you will assist dentists during procedures, manage patient records, and ensure the highest standards of infection control and clinical efficiency. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will help create a comfortable experience for every patient while supporting the smooth operation of our dental practice.

Responsibilities

Prepare treatment rooms with dental instruments, materials, and equipment, ensuring all tools are sterilized and ready for use following strict infection prevention management procedures.
Assist dentists during various procedures by handing instruments, managing suction devices, and maintaining optimal visibility through proper chairside assisting techniques.
Take and develop dental x-rays using digital imaging technology such as 3D scanners and dental x-ray equipment while adhering to HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality.
Manage patient records efficiently ensuring accurate documentation of medical history, vital signs, and treatment plans.
Educate patients on oral health care practices, post-treatment instructions, and preventive measures to promote long-term dental health.
Support the dental team with administrative duties including answering the phone as a dental receptionist, scheduling appointments, and managing medical documentation in compliance with clinical confidentiality policies.
Maintain cleanliness and sterilization of dental instruments and equipment according to dental sterilization procedures and infection control standards.
Assist in complex procedures such as oral surgery or prosthodontics by applying aseptic techniques and utilizing advanced dental equipment.

Experience

Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting is required.
Proficiency with EMR systems is essential for managing electronic health records efficiently.
Knowledge of medical terminology related to dentistry and healthcare infection prevention protocols is required.
Hands-on experience with dental instrument processing, sterilization procedures, and infection control practices is important for maintaining clinical safety standards.
Ability to perform X-ray procedures accurately while following all safety guidelines related to radiation exposure.
Strong understanding of anatomy knowledge relevant to dentistry ensures precise assistance during treatments.
Excellent communication skills for patient management and collaboration within a multidisciplinary team are crucial for success in this role.
