Job Purpose:
We are seeking a motivated and experienced part-time Volunteer Coordinator to join our team. They will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to recruit, retain, and engage volunteers who will support our students and staff and our mission.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
· Develop and execute a strategic and comprehensive volunteer recruitment plan to attract individuals who are passionate about our cause and possess the skills and expertise needed to support our programs and initiatives.
· Identify opportunities for expanding our volunteer base and diversifying our outreach efforts to engage with different segments of the community.
· Support Communications & Community Engagement Director in volunteer recruitment plan to attract individuals who are passionate about our cause and possess the skills and expertise needed to support our programs and initiatives.
· Enhance volunteer retention and engagement, by researching and organizing volunteer appreciation events, ongoing training and support, and opportunities for volunteer development.
· Identify opportunities for expanding our volunteer base and diversifying our outreach efforts to engage with different segments of the community.
· Create and manage social media communications posts related to urgent volunteer needs, our annual fundraiser; working with staff and the Board of Directors to manage invites, branding, event materials, publicity, and stewarding content for event programming.
· Attend community events, meetings, and conferences to recruit new volunteers and raise awareness of our mission and programs and identify potential partnership opportunities.
· Respond to public questions and information requests via email, phone, website, and social media.
· Monitor and analyze the effectiveness of our volunteer recruitment, retention, and marketing efforts, and make data-driven recommendations for improvement.
· Assist with administrative office tasks such as answer phone calls, printing name tags and signs, organizing volunteer materials.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in communications, business, social concerns, or marketing with nonprofit volunteer or related work experience.
· Minimum of 3 years of experience in volunteer recruitment within the nonprofit sector with track record of successful volunteer recruitment, retention, and engagement strategies.
· Communications, marketing, and public relations skills, with ability to effectively convey mission, impact and brand to diverse target markets.
· Computer skills, including social media, graphic design, slide presentations, and database management.
· Working in multicultural environments with a wide variety of personality types.
· Valid Wisconsin driver’s license, insurance, and reliable transportation.to travel to off-site locations in the service area of Outagamie, Waupaca and northern Calumet and Winnebago Counties.
· Ability to work evenings or weekends occasionally for events and/or training.
Skills:
· Writing, editing, and verbal communication skills in English.
· Interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with volunteers, staff, donors, and community partners.
· High energy self-starter who works well independently and on a team.
· Demonstrated ability to think creatively, problem-solve, and adapt to changing priorities and circumstances.
· Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
· Proficiency in Hmong, Spanish, French, or Kinyarwanda strongly preferred.
· Ability to work with a diverse group of individuals.
· Proficiency in Microsoft
