Registered Nurse – Emergency Room (ER)

Shift: 12-Hour Night Shift
Weekend Rotation: Every Other Weekend
On-Call: None (Travelers may be called off first during low census)
MedOp Solutions is partnering with a Level III Trauma Center in Oshkosh, Wisconsin to hire an experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse for a 13-week contract assignment. This opportunity offers the chance to care for a diverse patient population ranging from pediatric to geriatric patients in a busy Emergency Department that treats a wide variety of medical, surgical, cardiac, neurological, and trauma conditions.
The ideal candidate will have a strong emergency nursing background, excellent assessment and critical thinking skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. First-time travelers are welcome to apply.

- 22-Bed Emergency Department
- Part-Time Schedule (24 Hours Per Week)
- Minimum of 2 Years of Emergency Department Experience Required
- First-Time Travelers Accepted
- Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:3–4 (Days and Nights)
- Adult and geriatric patients (predominantly geriatric)
- Pediatric patients (experience preferred but not required)
- Chest pain
- Abdominal pain
- Falls
- General medical emergencies
- Trauma patients
- Stroke and neurological emergencies
- Cardiac emergencies
- Perform rapid patient assessments and triage
- Initiate IV access and obtain blood cultures using proper technique
- Care for patients with chest tubes and other emergency interventions
- Participate in Code Blue responses and emergency resuscitations
- Monitor and assess critically ill and injured patients
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with emergency protocols
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, and interdisciplinary teams
- Document patient care accurately in EPIC
- Deliver compassionate, patient-centered emergency care in a fast-paced environment
- Active Registered Nurse license
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience required
- BLS certification required
- ACLS certification required
- PALS certification required
- NIHSS certification required
- TNCC certification required
- EPIC experience required
- Pediatric emergency experience
- CPI or MOAB certification
- ENPC certification
- Critical care experience
- Arterial line experience
- Central line placement assistance
- Thoracentesis experience
- Charge nurse experience
- Belmont Rapid Infuser experience
- Charge Nurse (occasionally takes patient assignments)
- Emergency Department Technicians
- Health Unit Coordinator
- Mid-Shift Paramedic
- 24/7 Hospitalist Coverage
- Mid-Level Providers (8:00 AM – Midnight)
- Respiratory Therapy Available 24/7
- Bedside and Central Telemetry Monitoring
- Telemetry Technician for ER Hold Patients
- Unit Secretary Available 24/7
- Phlebotomy support for difficult and time-sensitive blood draws
- EMR: EPIC
- IV Pumps: Alaris
- Medication Dispensing: Pyxis
- Belmont Rapid Infuser (preferred experience)
- Minimum of one unit orientation shift
- Department-specific workflow and emergency care orientation
- 24 Hours Per Week
- 12-Hour Night Shifts
- Every Other Weekend
- Holiday coverage as needed
- Up to 7 days of requested time off may be approved
- No floating required for Emergency Department RNs
- Travelers are the first to be called off during low census situations
