Position Summary

The Materials Supervisor would ideally have expertise in Epicor (Kinetic preferred) to oversees inventory control, purchasing, and material flow to ensure efficient production operations and accurate inventory management. This role leads the materials team, collaborates across departments, and manages supplier relationships to support company goals in quality, cost, and delivery.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Lead daily materials management activities, including purchasing, receiving, inventory control, cycle counting, and inventory accuracy to support uninterrupted production.
Monitor inventory performance by reconciling discrepancies, identifying root causes, implementing corrective actions, and maintaining accurate inventory records and reporting.
Manage purchasing operations, including requisitions, purchase orders, supplier quotations, and delivery schedules, while optimizing inventory levels to meet production demands and minimizing excess inventory.
Evaluate and manage supplier performance, ensuring quality, reliability, and on-time delivery.
Coordinate physical inventories and maintain an effective locator system for all parts and materials.
Ensure timely material availability to meet production schedules; expedite orders as needed to prevent delays.
Support Lean and 6S initiatives focused on cost reduction, efficiency, and process improvement.
Ensure compliance with ISO quality standards, company policies, and safety requirements.
Provide leadership, guidance, and training to materials staff (2-4 direct reports) to promote accountability and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

Previous procurement or materials management experience in a manufacturing environment.
Ability to interpret metrics, financial data, spend reports, and budgets.
Proven ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships and partnerships.
Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.
Ability to prioritize, multi-task, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities.
Working knowledge of ERP systems (Epicor Kinetic preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite.
Capable of working independently while contributing to overall team success.
Ability to lift objects up to 30 pounds throughout the day.
High school diploma or GED required; 2–4 year degree or equivalent experience preferred.
