Role Scope:
We are looking for a dynamic, service-oriented therapy aide who is passionate about supporting elderly persons in their journey. The therapy aide will assist the therapy department in day-to-day operations to ensure successful participant therapy and experience.
Participant Care
- Contribute to a center experience that Participants want to spend time in, a team culture that cares and creates joy, and an environment where all participants and team members belong.
- Exhibit and honor Habitat's Values.
- Assists a licensed Therapist in implementation of therapeutic treatment activities for patients as directed.
- Assembles, adjusts, adapts, repairs, and/or constructs simple equipment for elderly participants as instructed by a Therapist.
- Prepares and maintains treatment areas; cleans therapy gym, treatment mats, and equipment; and picks up equipment.
- Maintains inventory, sets up for, and leads recreational activities under direction of the recreational therapist.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- A minimum of one year experience working with the frail or elderly.
- Proof of medical clearance for communicable diseases, including a TB test.
- Proof of all immunizations up to date.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience or education in physical, occupational, recreational therapy.
- Bilingual: Spanish preferred.
- A state issued driver's license, personal transportation, and auto insurance as required by law
Compensation:
We take into account an individual's qualifications, skillset, and experience in determining final salary. This role is eligible for medical/dental/vision insurance, short and long-term disability, life insurance, flexible spending accounts, 401(k) savings, paid time off, and company-paid holidays. The expected salary range for this position is $24 - $28 per hour and is a bonus-eligible position. The actual offer will be at the company's sole discretion and determined by relevant business considerations, including the final candidate's qualifications, years of experience, skillset, and geographic location.
